2024 World Series of Poker
Guillermo Sanchez Otero in middle position opened to 400,000 with A♣2♣, and Stephen Song defended from the big blind with J♦4♦.
Otero continued for 600,000 on the 7♦5♣3♣ flop, but Song check-raised to 1,200,000. Otero called, then called again for 900,000 after he hit the nut flush on the 9♣ turn.
On the A♠ river, Song asked for 4,000,000. Otero moved all-in for 6,525,000 and Song snap-folded.
Brian Kim opened to 400,000 from early position and was three-bet to 1,100,000 by Giovanni Zanette in middle position. Arthur Morris went all in for his last 550,000 in the cutoff and Kim folded.
Arthur Morris: 9♦7♦
Giovanni Zanette: A♦A♣
Morris was in rough shape against Zanette's aces, but the 10♦6♣3♦ gave Morris a bevy of outs.
The 5♦ turn improved Morris to a flush and the 9♥ river bricked out for Zanette to award Morris the pot.
Chi Jen Chen found himself at risk for 2,325,000 from the big blind against Gerardo Hernandez in early position.
Chi Jen Chen: 9♥9♦
Gerardo Hernandez: A♥A♣
The board of 3♦10♥7♦5♥2♠ was no help for Chen, who was eliminated.
Three ways to the 10♥8♦8♠ flop, Charles Russell and Jason James checked to Luis Vazquez and he bet 400,000. Only Russell called and then led the 9♣ turn for 600,000. Vazquez called before they checked down the 3♣ on the river.
Russell showed the J♣10♠ and won the pot.
A big hand played out between [Removed:499] and Garrett Bok that Daniel Zadok briefly recalled for PokerNews.
Bok had opened from the button, Slobodskoy three-bet the big blind, and Bok shoved. Slobodskoy had around 8,500,000 to start the hand and made the call which put him at risk.
[Removed:499]: J♣J♦
Garrett Bok: A♦6♦
Slobodskoy's pocket jacks held up on the 8♦9♠5♠6♣5♣ runout which earned him a big double-up, and put a huge dent in Bok's stack.
Action folded to Jordan Griff in the small blind who moved all in. Arthur Morris then called for his last 1,900,000 in the big blind.
Arthur Morris: A♦J♦
Jordan Griff: K♥7♥
Morris made a pair on the K♦J♠2♠ flop, but Griff hit a pair of kings to take the lead. The turn, though, was the J♣ and Morris spiked trips to move back in front.
The 5♦ completed the board on the river and Morris stayed alive yet again.
Aliaksandr Shylko opened to 400,000 on the button and Daniel Zadok three-bet to 1,200,000 in the big blind. Shylko four-bet jammed a stack of 3,500,000 and Zadok quickly called with a bigger stack.
Aliaksandr Shylko: 10♦10♠
Daniel Zadok: A♣K♠
Shylko's tens held up for a double as the board ran out a safe 7♠3♣Q♦Q♣8♥ and he gave a loud cheer and took a picture of the board after securing the double.
Heads-up on a flop of Q♠8♥9♥, Jason James bet 300,000 from the hijack and Yegor Moroz called in the cutoff.
The turn was the K♦ and James bet 500,000. Moroz again called and the A♥ fell on the river.
James slowed down and checked to Moroz who bet 1,200,000. James snap-folded.
[Removed:499] opeend from middle position to 400,000 and Daniel Zadok three-bet the button to 1,125,000. David Collins then four-bet from the small blind to 2,800,000, which got Slobodskoy to fold. Zadok then shoved all in, and Collins quickly called off his remaining 5,000,000 chips.
David Collins: Q♥Q♣
Daniel Zadok: A♥A♦
Collins was way behind and didn't find any help on the 10♠2♥5♠ flop. Only a queen could save Collins but neither the 10♦ turn nor 9♣ river was the Lady he was looking for, which meant he was elimimated.
Zadok on the other hand, now has a stack of around 24,000,000 chips.
