Pan Chipping Up

Qinghai Pan started the day with around 80,000 chips, but has managed to climb up to one of the healthier stacks with 600,000.

In a hand he played against Stuart McHenry in the small blind, Pan threw a continuation bet on the flop of 899. McHenry called.

The turn was the 10. McHenry checked, Pan bet again and got called.

The river was the K and the betting sequence was repeated once again. McHenry checked and then called Pan’s bet. Pan turned over A9 for flopped trips, and McHenry’s Jx10x hit the muck.

Two hands later, Pan opened from middle position and got three-bet by Christopher Bartley in the hijack. Pan called.

The flop was QJ5. Pan checked and called Bartley’s bet.

The turn A was checked around.

On the river 8, Pan put in a bet and got a fold from Bartley.

George Chen raised from middle position and Eddie Kifarkis defended in the big blind.

The flop came JQK and Kifarkis check-called. The 7 turn and 3 river both went check-check.

When Chen turned over 88, the table let out a good chuckle, as Chen had won the previous pot with the same exact hand, including the suits. Kifarkis folded and Chen dragged in the small pot.
