Yang’s Six-Bet Pays Off

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Following a four-bet preflop from Joao Simao on the button, and a five-bet shove from Kyosuke Nagami, Chongxian Yang then took back his three-bet and replaced it with a six-bet reshove. Simao, covered, didn’t want to play for his tournament life and returned his cards, along with his chips, to the dealer, and the all in players went to showdown.

Yang came out on top at the end of the flip, and engulfed Nagami’s stack when the board ran out 10102J3

Rheem Jams Turn

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Chino Rheem raised to 4,000 on the button. David Wesson was his only customer from the big blind.

The flop came Q104. Wesson checked and Rheem bet 5,000. Wesson called.

The turn was the 6 and Wesson checked again. Rheem then moved all in for his last 32,100. Wesson then started to joke around with him.

"You've probably got ace king." Wesson said. "I've got a pair".

"Then put it in", Rheem said back.

Wesson ultimately decided against it, and folded.

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jesse Lonis raised to 6,000 on the button, and Tyler Cornell came along from the big blind.

The flop was J105 and Cornell checked. Lonis bet 7,500, and was met with a call.

The turn brought the 9, and this time Lonis fired 19,000 after Cornell checked again. Cornell remained interested in the pot, and called.

The river was the 4 and Lonis wasn't done betting. He went for a 47,000 bet on the river. Cornell announced that he was all in, and Lonis started to think. He eventually folded, and Cornell dragged a sizeable pot.

Seiver Climbs Back to Starting Stack

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

2024’s Player of the Year Scott Seiver had a stack worth just 13 Big Blinds, when he got it all in preflop against Jesse Lonis.

Scott Seiver AA All in
Jesse Lonis 1010

The 747Q6 board ran out clean for Seiver, and when asked to verify how much he was all in for, he claimed it was a “huge 28,000 chips”, and commented on how he can now get back into the tournament, due to his chip count resetting as if he’d just sat down.

Seidel Finds a Double Up

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Jacob Kauffman raised under the gun to 6,000. Sean Mirrasouli called next to act, and Erik Seidel came along from the big blind.

The three players saw a flop of 976. Seidel checked, and Kauffman bet 11,000. Mirrasouli folded, and action was on Seidel. He went all in for 40,500 and Kauffman quickly called.

Erik Seidel: 64 All in
Jacob Kauffman: KK

The turn A gave Seidel a flush, but Kauffman could still hit a higher flush with another heart, which would have busted the 10-time bracelet winner. The A river did not do the trick however, and Seidel remains in the tournament.

Rabichow Gets There in Unlikely Fashion

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Action folded round to Brock Wilson in the cutoff, who shot out a min-raise to 6,000. The button and small blind got out of the way, and as the only player left to act Kevin Rabichow shoved for 41,000, or just under 14 big blinds. With a large stack, Wilson didn’t hesitate to make the call, and revealed that he was out-pipping Rabichow by one.

Brock Wilson A8

Drawing to a seven, Rabichow also picked up diamond outs when the dealer rolled out a flop of 53K and wasted no time in picking up the check mark as the turn 6 sealed his double up. Only a hidden joker in the deck could have saved Wilson, but the dealer offered the 2 instead, before pushing the chips over to Rabichow.

Alex Foxen Jams on River

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Justin Saliba opened to 8,000 under the gun, Alex Foxen reraised from middle position to 19,000.

The board came 656 and Saliba checked. Foxen continued for 9,000. Saliba made the call.

The turn was the 3 and both players checked. Then on the A river, Saliba thought for a while before checking. Foxen moved all in, and Saliba folded.

When folding, Saliba threw his cards towards Foxen's. Foxen mixed together all four cards and turned one over. The first card he revealed was the J, and the second was the A.

"You folded Ace Jack?", he asked Saliba. Saliba confirmed that he did, and Foxen won this pot.
