Lichentin Takes One from Lonis

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Table 73 is a fun one that includes Masato Yokosawa, Nick Schulmann and Jesse Lonis. In this hand Lonis opened from middle position to 800 and David Lichentin three-bet on the button to 2500. Lonis stuck around and the two saw a flop.

Both players checked the 622 flop. The turn brought the A and Lonis checked. Lichentin bet 3000, and then faced a raise to 8,900 from Lonis. Lichentin threw in the extra 5900 to match the bet.

The river came the 9 and Lonis thought for a moment. He ultimately decided to check, and Lichentin checked back. Lonis mucked his hand and Lichentin dragged the pot without having to show his holding.

Barbero Admits Defeat on the Turn

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Nacho Barbero called an under the gun raise to 600 from the hijack, before getting three-bet by Masafumi Fukata on the button. Both Barbero and the under the gun player made the call.

The flop of 478 checked through, and the K on the turn brought in a delayed continuation-bet from Fukata, after he was checked to for a second time. Barbero got tricky and threw out a check-raise to 10,500. After a minute of thinking through his options Fukata then three-bet to 20,000, and Barbero promptly mucked.

Kornuth Gets Flushed out of the Mystery Bounty

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Three players arrived at the river, as the board read 49J72. First to act Chance Kornuth checked, and Taylor Black bet out for 12,000 into a pot of 15,000. Richard Scardina asked for a count before letting go of his cards, and after over a minute of thinking, Kornuth stacked up his chips and pushed them forward, announcing “all in” for 38,000.

Black practically beat him into the pot, as he chucked in a singular chip and almost guiltily flipped over A7, showing he flopped the stone cold nuts, and kept them to the river.

Kornuth, forced to show his cards, revealed that he too had flopped a flush, however his 65 was no match.

One player at the table remarked that Black must have “sat up in his chair” when he saw the flop, and another said “and he almost fell out of it when he saw him shove!]

In a heads-up pot, Fares Santana had bet 22,000 from the cutoff with the board reading 927 and Maksim Pisarenko raised all in from early position with a stack of 59,700.

Santana went deep into the tank, counting out the amount needed to call and looking at the board. Table mate Yuri Dzivielevski called the clock and Santana folded, leading Pisarenko to table the 8 as he raked in the pot and said "pocket eights."

"I don't think you had pocket eights," said Santana.

"Pocket nines," Pisarenko said with a grin.
