Rheem Jams Turn

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Chino Rheem raised to 4,000 on the button. David Wesson was his only customer from the big blind.

The flop came Q104. Wesson checked and Rheem bet 5,000. Wesson called.

The turn was the 6 and Wesson checked again. Rheem then moved all in for his last 32,100. Wesson then started to joke around with him.

"You've probably got ace king." Wesson said. "I've got a pair".

"Then put it in", Rheem said back.

Wesson ultimately decided against it, and folded.

A Clock, a Warning & the Ace of Spades

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Romain Lewis
Romain Lewis

Romain Lewis and Maksim Pisarenko played a lengthy hand that saw the two getting to the river on a board of 8J105K.

Lewis bet 22,500 on the river and Maksim Pisarenko jammed a stack of around 63,000 to send the Winamax pro deep into the tank.

"This tournament is too hard! I flopped a set. You look like a nice guy," Lewis said as Pisarenko put his head down on the table.

The two engaged in back-and-forth banter for over a minute and the clock was eventually called. Pisarenko then said something in French to Lewis, prompting the floor to warn the table about the English-only rule.

The clock ticked on and Lewis let his hand die before showing 1010. Pisarenko showed one card and it was the A, leaving the table to guess whether or not he had it.

"Nice bluff!" said Jon Kyte.

Yang’s Six-Bet Pays Off

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Following a four-bet preflop from Joao Simao on the button, and a five-bet shove from Kyosuke Nagami, Chongxian Yang then took back his three-bet and replaced it with a six-bet reshove. Simao, covered, didn’t want to play for his tournament life and returned his cards, along with his chips, to the dealer, and the all in players went to showdown.

Chongxian Yang 99

Yang came out on top at the end of the flip, and engulfed Nagami’s stack when the board ran out 10102J3

Another Round of Counts

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Yankov Hits the Perfect Turn

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a board of 8J5K Gang Zhou checked over to Krasimir Yankov. Yankov took a decent amount of time to ponder his options and finally came to the decision that 10,000 was the correct amount to bet. Zhou also waited a moment before making the call.

The river 2 was a total brick. Yet again Zhao checked, and yet again Yankov started thinking, and eventually shoved his 34,900 stack. Zhao clearly was in an uncomfortable spot, and went deep into the tank. After a little while, he rechecked his cards, thought some more, and flicked in a single 100 denomination chip, signifying a call.

Yankov confidently showed the table the nuts, in the form of KK and Zhou mucked.

Carnero’s Aces get Cracked

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A pot of 26,000 reached the turn, as the board read 7324 and Martin Carnero bet out for 15,000. Dale Roesel didn’t think too much about his decision, and pressured Carnero into risking his tournament life by announcing “all in”. Carnero couldn’t get away from his overpair and made the call.

Carnero was looking to improve to a wheel or a set, but he was already up and out of his seat when he bricked the K river, and left promptly.

Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Alex Foxen, who has reentered the event, raised to 2000 from middle position, Benedetto Bianco called from the hijack, Richard Green called from the small blind, and then action was on Ryan Riess. He put in a raise to 15,000. Foxen then moved all in. Bianco and Green folded, and Riess quickly called.

The board fanned out K210JA. Riess set of jacks were no good against Foxen's straight, and the 2013 Main Event Champion was eliminated.
