WSOP

In poker, like in life, they say records are meant to be broken.

But sometimes, someone sets a milestone that just feels impossible to top. Whether it’s because of insane skill, perfect timing, a bit of luck, or a mix of all three, the World Series of Poker has seen some feats over the years that seem like they’ll never be matched.

However, while all records may eventually fall, these achievements are currently some of the most jaw-dropping in WSOP history. Will any of them ever be broken? Only time will tell. For now, though, here are the most incredible WSOP records that will (probably) never be broken.

Barbero Fires Three Barrels

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

There has hardly been a moment of silence at table 80 with Mike Matusow and Nacho Barbero chatting constantly.

Barbero opened this pot to 1,600, and was met with a call from Adrien Favre from the small blind and Chao Duan in the big.

The three players saw a flop of AJ6. Both blinds checked and Barbero bet 2,000, Favre called and Duan got out of the way.

On the 10 turn, Barbero continued to bet and listen to, this time 5,500, all while Matusow kept his story going. Favre once again check-called.

The 4 completed the board and Favre checked. Barbero bet 21,400, leaving himself just 1,000 behind. Favre folded, and Barbero scooped up a much-needed pot.

Shaun’s Deeb Stack Takes a Big Hit

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action was picked up preflop, as Shaun Deeb had three-bet on the button to a size of 6,000. Zhen Chen, who had raised from the cutoff, four-bet to a size of 14,500. Deeb didn’t take long before moving all in for 56,000 effective, and he knew his fate before any cards were tabled, as Chen flicked a chip in instantly.

Zhen Chen AA All in
Shaun Deeb AQ

Deeb had a sliver of hope on the turn, as the dealer had put out 8710J however the king he needed didn’t show up, as the dealer paired the board with the 10.

Weng Shoves into Rockets

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

When action folded to him in the cutoff, Gaurav Raina raised to 2,000. Following a button fold, Bin Weng shoved his 18,000 stack from the small blind, and Raina had his chips in the middle before the big blind could fold his hand.

Bin Weng: A2 All in
Gaurav Raina: AA

The 846 flop had Weng drawing slim, and his fate was sealed on the 4 turn. His rivered two pair with the A meant nothing, as Raina sent him packing with a full house.

Sanchez's Deuces are Enough

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Diego Sanchez opened under the gun to 1,300, and was met with a three-bet by Mikhail Zavoloka to 4,000. Sanchez called.

The flop went check-check on Q85 and the 8 saw both players decline to bet as well.

On the 10, Sanchez checked and Zavoloka fired 15,000. Sanchez threw on three, red 5,000 chips to make the call. Zavoloka showed A4 and Sanchez was able to take down the pot with just 22.

Alex Foxen was all in for his last 10,000 against heads-up opponent Christopher Ewing.

Alex Foxen: 99 All in
Christopher Ewing: KQ

Foxen, who is fresh off pulling a $25,000 bounty in the other Mystery Bounty event, couldn't win the flip as the board ran out J67KA to give Ewing a pair of kings to send Foxen to the rail.

Kristen Foxen, meanwhile, sits on the opposite side of the room with a stack of around 75,000.
