Survive and Advance

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Claudio Elizalde
Claudio Elizalde

Claudio Elizalde survived three all-in moves in the span of four hands, leading to a pay jump that left him more than pleased.

In the last of the trilogy, Elizade raised from middle position to 40,000. Jared Hemingway reraised and Randen Honigman went all-in over the top.

Elizalde still had four 4,000 chips remaining and he took a moment before making the call. Hemingway called the remainder of Honigan's pot donation and the cards were show.

Claudio Elizalde: AK34All in
Randen Honigman: A872All in
Jared Hemingway: AJ42

The runout was odd in that through the turn the board showed 101055 and neither of the three players had a five or a 10. The river brought the 4, to give Elizalde a split with Hemingway, and Honigman an exit.

When the hand began, there were 49 players remaining in the field, and Elizade was the short stack. When the field was down to 40, he was still playing.

Tang Ends Zolotow's Run

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Eric Tang
Eric Tang

Steve Zolotow opened to 70,000 from middle position and Eric Tang called from the small blind.

The flop came 537 and Tang fired a 180,000 pot-sized bet. Zolotow moved all in for 181,000 and Tang flicked in a chip to put Zolotow at risk.

Steve Zolotow: AK63 All in
Eric Tang: AJ52

The rest of the board ran out 710. Zolotow had two pair, sevens and threes without a low. Tang had two pair, sevens and fives with the nut-low to send Zolotow to the rail and win the hand.

Warga With Crumbs

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On the button, David Warga had gone all in preflop for about 135,000 and was up against Christopher Vitch in the small blind.

David Warga: A10105 All in
Christopher Vitch: AAJ5

The 8Q936 flop gave both players the same low, with Vitch's aces winning the high half of the pot. Warga got about half his stack back as Vitch was awarded three-quarters of the pot.

Suzuki Leaves Elizalde Short

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The flop came 4Q3 and Suzuki shoved for 130,000. Elizalde called with a covering stack to put Suzuki at risk.

Bodhen Suzuki: AQ28 All in
Claudio Elizalde: AQJ5

The board ran out 5A giving Suzuki a wheel to scoop the pot while Elizalde was left with just under four big blinds.

Aalvik Doubles Through Brandt

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The action was caught on a 7JK flop, where cutoff Davis Aalvik's stack of roughly 280,000 had been put at risk against Lawrence Brandt on the button.

Davis Aalvik: JJ62 All in
Lawrence Brandt: KQQ9

Aalvik was in great shape with his middle set. The A5 runout saw his jacks hold, and gave him a bonus low to scoop the pot and double up.

Hubbard Gets Most of One Million-Chip Pot

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Tomasz Gluszko was all-in preflop, but the fireworks came after, as Renji Mao and Stephen Hubbard dug deep into their stacks with Mao betting his last 670,000 on the turn after calling more than 200,000 on the flop of 1095.

Tomasz Gluszko: KQ63All in
Renji Mao: A262All in
Stephen Hubbard: A432

Hubbard remarked before the cards were shown that surely he and Mao had the same low hand draw with ace-deuce. He was right. As for the high?

"I have nothing," Hubbard said.

Well, that was before the turn and river. The runout of 83 gave Hubbard a nut-nut hand with an ace-high flush.

Gluszko was out. And Mao was left pulling back a small portion of the chips he had pushed into the pot.

Benso Takes Small One on Deep-Stacked Table

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Calvin Anderson min-raised to 32,000 under the gun. Sergio Benso was the only interested party, calling from the hijack.

Anderson put in another 32,000 on the A8J flop, which Benso called. The 2 turn slowed Anderson down as he checked over to Benso.

Benso fired 100,000, eliciting a quick fold from his opponent. Benso was kind enough to show the table A652 as he raked in the chips.

Daniels Gets Some Value With Aces

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Shane Daniels opened to 56,000 from middle position and Christopher Vitch defended from the big blind.

The flop came 6510 and Vitch check-called a 60,000 bet from Daniels.

The two players then checked both the 6 turn and 5 river. Daniels turned over two pair with AAJ8 and Vitch mucked.
