The river 8 went check-check. Roberts showed KJ for king-high. Gonzalez mucked conceding the pot to Roberts.

Hicks Stays Alive....Just

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

David Metzger made a preflop raise from the hijack, and Eric Hicks made the call on the button, putting himself all in as he had only two big blinds left in his stack. The blinds got out of the way, and the cards were placed on their backs.

Eric Hicks: JJ All in
David Metzger: QQ

Hicks couldn't believe his luck as he had ran right into it at the point of elimination, but the flop 85J brought him hopes of staying alive in the tournament. The A7 runout secured him a more than triple up, as he picked up the blinds and ante, but with less than ten big blinds he will need to keep on spinning up to make a deeper run in this event.

James Mullaly went all in preflop from the button, and Peter Kiem made the call. Greg Ostrander had a decision, but ultimately folded his hand.

James Mullaly: 1010 All in
Peter Kiem: 55

Mullaly's hand held on a board of 4284J and he received a very important double up to keep himself afloat. Ostrander wasn't best pleased about having folded his pocket sixes, citing the side pot he could've won against Kiem.

Head Pushes Back Against Taylor

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Stuart Taylor opened for 2,200 from under the gun and got three callers in Russell Head on the button, Troy Donaldson in the small blind and Mark Lillge in the big blind.

The flop came 357 and after checks from the blinds, Taylor continued with 4,000. This time, only Head called to see the next card.
