Espositio Eliminates Two Players With Pocket Queens

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action unfolded in a preflop battle involving three players, each having all their chips in the middle, hoping to win big.

Alan Wentz: AK All in
Walter Ripper: AK All in
John Esposito: QQ

The dealer spread a flop of 410J. The two players with Ace-King were now rooting for a Queen, but the dealer provided no assistance on the 7 turn and 4 river. With that, Ripper and Wentz were eliminated from Event #40, while Esposito’s stack surged to the top of the leaderboard.

Matusow Jams River

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow played a sizeable pot against Jun Liu to chip up. The hand began when Liu raised to 10,000 from early position and was called by David Gonzalez from the hijack. Mike Matusow decided to raise it to 30,000 from the cutoff. Liu called, and Gonzalez folded.

Liu checked the 667 flop over to Matusow who slid out another 30,000 bet. Liu came along with a call.

The A turn saw Liu take the betting lead with a bet to 65,000. Matusow gave it some thought before he pushed out a call.

Liu slowed down on the 2 river with a check. Matusow asked for it all going all in for approximately 170,000. Liu quickly folded to end the hand.

David Gonzalez busted shortly after the hand to exit the tournament.

Hopkins Rivers Kasper

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Henri Kasper raised to 20,000 under the gun, only leaving himself 3,000 behind. Darrell Hopkins was next to act, and he shoved in his 92,000 stack to isolate. Everyone else at the table got out of the way, and Kasper flicked in his remaining chips.

Henri Kasper: Q10 All in
Darrell Hopkins: AK

The 464 flop didn't change anything, but the 10 on the turn sent Kasper into the lead. It seemed like he'd be given another life in the tournament, however Hopkins hit an ace from space on the river, in the shape of the A and he sent Kasper to the rail.

Hamilton Gone For Good

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Lisa Hamilton raised it up to 10,000 from middle position before Curt Kohlberg on her direct left bumped it up to 21,000. One by one, the rest of the table folded and when action returned to Hamilton, she went all in for just over 80,000. Kohlberg made the snap call.

Lisa Hamilton: AQ All in
Curt Kohlberg: KK

The board read 8926 on the turn, meaning Hamilton was drawing to any diamond or any ace on the river, however the K improved her opponent to top set, sending her home with no option to buy back in.

Li Takes Out Cunix

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Shaun Cunix found himself under the gun, and decided to rip in his entire stack. It didn't seem like he was going to have any takers until action got all the way round to big blind Danny Li. He peeled his cards, and took his time to count out the 49,500 chips he'd be risking should he make the call. Eventually, he did stick it in.

Shaun Cunix: AJ All in
Danny Li: AQ

The board came out more than clean for Li, as the dealer put out 8K489, the only real sweat being to a chop. The two shared a handshake and Cunix left the tournament area.

Adamo Takes Out Mccallum on the River

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Thomas Brownscombe raised to 6,500 from under the gun and got two calls from Duncan Mccallum Michael in middle position and Michael Adamo on the button.

The players went three-ways to the A65 flop and both Brownscombe and Mccallum checked. Adamo bet 10,000 and Brownscombe folded. Mccallum raised to 35,000 with Adamo making the call.

Mccallum moved all in on the 4 turn, for around 70,000 which sent Adamo into the tank.

Adamo after around a minute counted his stack, to see if he covered, and took another 30 seconds before making the call.

Mccallum was first to show, and Adamo saw he was behind and slammed over his cards to show the table.

Duncan Mccallum: AKAll in
Michael Adamo: AQ

The dealer peeled the Q river, giving Adamo two pair to steel the win. Adamo asked "Do I cover you?" and Mccallum replied "yeah".

Mccallum was eliminated and Adamo was heard saying "sorry bro" as his opponent walked away from the table.
