2025 World Series of Poker
Scott Allacher began the hand with a raise from early position. Jeffrey Kimber responded with an all-in from the button for 66,000. Allacher decided on a call.
Jeffrey Kimber: Q♦Q♣
Scott Allacher: A♠J♦
Kimber held a healthy lead over Allacher going into the runout, and the queens held when the board fanned out 5♣7♦10♣10♥K♥ to double.
Michael Collins was in the small blind and covered Penh Lo who was in the big blind and already all in for his remaining 36,500 stack.
Penh Lo: K♠Q♥
Michael Collins: A♣K♣
Collins was ahead on both the 5♦6♥5♠ flop, and the 3♦ turn but Lo stole the pot on the Q♦ river, which saved him from elimination.
Players shared some table talk right after the hand when the chips were being collected, with Lo saying "Woohoo, that's right back up to what I started the day with. I am exactly where I was".
In the hand straight after, the pair went head-to-head again, with Collins raising the button and Lo jamming. Collins gave this one up and Lo chipped off some more of Collins stack.
Henri Kasper was all in and at risk from under the gun for 32,500. Action folded around to Dean Baranowski in the big blind, who took a couple of minutes to ponder his options before deciding to call.
Henri Kasper: 8♠8♦
Dean Baranowski: A♦7♥
The dealer provided Baranowski with no assistance on a 2♠9♥10♥10♦3♥ runout, and Kasper got a full double up and will be hoping to capitalize on this positive momentum.
The hand began when Martin Mccloskey raised to 7,000 from under the gun. Michael Gilbert called in the next seat over, and Ernest Ward called from the big blind.
The flop came Q♥2♥9♦, which led to a check from Ward. Mccloskey bet 10,000 and was raised by Gilbert to 30,000. Ward folded, and Mccloskey called.
The 3♠ turn led to a check from Mccloskey before Gilbert ripped in his whole stack for 257,000. Mccloskey thought for a long time before folding A♥J♥ face up. Gilbert showed Q♣Q♦ as he scooped the pot.
In the hijack, Chad Lipton was the first player to take action, as he raised to 7,000. To his direct left, Gualter Fortuna then put in a three-bet to 25,000, which was called by small blind Tyler Sigman after much deliberation. Lipton, seemingly frustrated, got out of the way, and Fortuna put in the call.
On a flop of 5♥2♣2♦ Sigman open shoved his pot-sized stack of 52,500. Fortuna quickly made the call.
Tyler Sigman: A♣K♠
Gualter Fortuna: J♣J♦
Sigman was behind preflop, further behind on the flop, and it stayed that way to the river as the 8♦5♦ runout sent him home just before the end of late registration.
Thomas Brownscombe raised to 6,500 from under the gun and got two calls from Duncan Mccallum Michael in middle position and Michael Adamo on the button.
The players went three-ways to the A♣6♦5♣ flop and both Brownscombe and Mccallum checked. Adamo bet 10,000 and Brownscombe folded. Mccallum raised to 35,000 with Adamo making the call.
Mccallum moved all in on the 4♣ turn, for around 70,000 which sent Adamo into the tank.
Adamo after around a minute counted his stack, to see if he covered, and took another 30 seconds before making the call.
Mccallum was first to show, and Adamo saw he was behind and slammed over his cards to show the table.
Duncan Mccallum: A♦K♦
Michael Adamo: A♠Q♦
The dealer peeled the Q♠ river, giving Adamo two pair to steel the win. Adamo asked "Do I cover you?" and Mccallum replied "yeah".
Mccallum was eliminated and Adamo was heard saying "sorry bro" as his opponent walked away from the table.
Shaun Cunix found himself under the gun, and decided to rip in his entire stack. It didn't seem like he was going to have any takers until action got all the way round to big blind Danny Li. He peeled his cards, and took his time to count out the 49,500 chips he'd be risking should he make the call. Eventually, he did stick it in.
Shaun Cunix: A♥J♦
Danny Li: A♣Q♣
The board came out more than clean for Li, as the dealer put out 8♣K♠4♦8♥9♥, the only real sweat being to a chop. The two shared a handshake and Cunix left the tournament area.
Curt Kohlberg raised to 6,500 from the button and was called by Martin Raus in the big blind.
Both players checked on Q♦8♣K♦ flop.
The turn was the 2♥, and Raus checked, Kolhberg bet 9,000, which was good enough to win the hand.
Players are on their first 15-minute break of the day.
