Stephen Bierman raised to 15,000 from the cutoff and Nicholas Wright called from the button.
The A♠9♣10♣ flop saw Bierman continuation bet 10,000, and Wright raised to 40,000. Bierman moved all in for his remaining 120,000 and Wright snap called.
Nicholas Wright: A♦K♣
Stephen Bierman: A♥Q♣
Bierman needed to hit, but the K♠ turn only improved Wright.
The 5♠ river secured Wright's double, but Bierman was still sitting with plenty to play with.
Gary Benson liked his hand enough to get himself all in preflop, and he found himself up against the table's biggest stack, Guillermo Castillo.
Gary Benson: A♥7♠
Guillermo Castillo: 10♥9♥
Castillo's cards were live all the way to the river, but he was unable to hit on the 5♠6♦Q♠2♣K♥ runout, giving Benson a much-needed double up without putting too much of a dent in Castillo's stack.
Hand 1: A total of 80,000 was in the middle on the board that read 7♥J♥4♥3♠K♣. Gregory Henry checks before Jasthi Kumar shipped it, putting Henry at risk for $ 163,000.
Henry made the call, and Kumar showed A♥6♦ for a missed flush draw. Henry rolled over J♦J♣ to receive the double up.
Hand 2: The very next hand proved to be the demise of Kumar as he went all in for 206,000 after a raise to 14,000 from Tom Thomas. Thomas called to send the two to a showdown.
Jasthi Kumar: A♠K♣
Tom Thomas: Q♠Q♥
The queens held for Thomas when the board ran out of J♣10♥6♥8♥9♦ to eliminate Kumar.
John Esposito woke up with a hand under the gun and opted for a raise to 18,000. It wouldn't stand for long, however, as next to act Ramana Epparla bumped it up to 45,000. Patrick White was the third player in a row to get involved, as he cold-called the three bet. Finally, players started to fold, and action got back to big blind Stuart Taylor.
Taylor took his time in making a decision, and was really in the blender. "Somebody call clock on me," he eventually asked the table, and the dealer called over the floor who started the countdown. As he reached the last couple of seconds, he released his cards, claiming that he'd made a "massive fold". Esposito called, sending three players to a flop.
On a 5♣9♣3♣ flop, Esposito checked in flow, and Epparla put 125,000 out there. White then shoved, and was snapped off by Epparla after Esposito's fold.
Patrick White: Q♠Q♣
Ramana Epparla: A♠A♣
Both players turned the flush on the 4♣ turn, but Epparla's was superior, and the 9♥ river was inconsequential as White just missed out on making the money. Taylor revealed that he had indeed made a massive folding, having laid down AxK♣
Ron Fetsch was already all in and up against Reginald Roberts to his direct left. The action was followed as the cards were flipped.
Ron Fetsch: A♦A♥
Reginald Roberts: K♦K♣
Fetsch was looking good until the dealer placed the K♥9♦10♠ flop, giving Roberts a set. Fetsch let out a sigh and stood from the table, not sticking around to watch the rest of the runout.
He didn't come back on the 6♦ turn or the 10♥ river, and he was eliminated around 30 players from the money.
Ariel Abbatiello opened to 12,000 under the gun, and Jeremy Maher made the call behind him. Action got back to Scott Lazar in the small blind, who put in a three-bet to 53000. Abbatiello took a moment to decide, then went all in. Maher folded.
Lazar asked for a count, and after a bit of deliberation, the total was said to be 296,000. Lazar covered, but his decision was not an easy one as he went deep into the tank. A crowd started to form around the table, and after around three minutes he laid it down.
Abbatiello placed his cards in front of Lazar, and let him pick one to flip. The K♠ was revealed.
