Ethan "Rampage" Yau says he's "ready to quit" three weeks into the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) after numerous early eliminations and zero WSOP final tables.
But don't expect the poker vlogger to actually quit the bracelet chase. Rampage has racked up quite a few cashes this summer, but all for small amounts, and he's fired more bullets than Scott Seiver in a Flip & Go.
On a flop of 8♥2♣8♣, Guy Cicconi in the big blind moved all in for 105,000 and was called by Yan Yan in the cutoff and Anatoly Korochenskiy on the button.
Yan checked the A♠, allowing Korochenskiy to go all in for roughly 270,000. Yan, who was slightly covered, went deep into the tank. "Ok, I call," he eventually said.
Guy Cicconi: 2♥2♠
Yan Yan: Q♦Q♣
Anatoly Korochenskiy A♣5♣
"Yes, yes," Korochenskiy cheered when he hit a flush with the 4♣ river before realizing that Cicconi had the best hand with a full house. Anyway, he scooped the side pot while Yan was eliminated.
Action was picked up with Rajendra Ajmani all-in against the man on his left, David Campbell, who had him covered.
Rajendra Ajmani: A♠K♥
David Campbell: J♦J♣
Ajmani was a bit bothered by the fact that Zal Irani, who was also at the table sitting to the right of Campbell, kept saying that aces will no longer come out. As the discussion ensued, the dealer fanned out 8♥2♥4♦6♠K♦. At the river, the table gave an audible reaction to the rivered pair.
Campbell, however, remained composed as he matched the chips and gave it to Ajmani, who was still having a discussion with Irani.
Anthony Malarae raised in the cutoff to 25,000, Hung Tran called in the small blind and Korte Yeo three-bet to 125,000 from the big blind. Malarae shoved all in for 246,000, Tran got the clock called on him for excessive tanking then folded and Yeo called.
Anthony Malarae: Q♥Q♣
Korte Yeo: A♥10♥
The board ran out 2♥3♣8♣5♠6♠, and Yeo doubled up Malarae.
The very next hand saw Hung Tran raised 25,000 on the button, Korte Yeo three-bet in the small blind to 74,000, Tran called.
Yeo fired out a bet of 110,000 when the flop came 9♦4♥5♣, Tran snap raised to 250,000. Yeo went deep into the tank and three-bet shoved for 464,000, Tran snap called.
Korte Yeo: K♣K♠
Hung Tran: A♠9♣
The board ran out 3♠4♠, and Yeo took his chip count to over a 1,000,000 and left Tran with 10 big blinds.
Nicol Smith open-shoved all-in from hijack. Mark Ebner in the big blind asked for a count but got impatient when the count took longer than he wanted it to. He just announced a call even before the count finished taking both players to showdown.
Nicol Smith: A♥6♥
Mark Ebner: 6♦6♣
The board ran 2♠7♣5♦8♥3♣ and with no ace in sight, Ebner scooped the pot stating that was the best hand he's had all day.
