Michelle Izzi opened to 60,000 in middle position and received a shove all-in from the player immediately to her left, Sophal Yon. After action folded around, Izzi and Yon, at risk, headed to showdown.
Sophal Yon: 7♦7♣
Michelle Izzi: A♦J♥
Yon saw a potential double up when she maintained her lead on the flop of Q♣Q♥10♥. But the turn A♣ put Izzi in the lead. Nothing changed with the 6♦ river sending Yon to the rails.
The board 2♠A♥8♠9♠6♣ was already dealt, with Allyn Shulman being the player at risk for a remaining stack around 400,000 against Elisa Nakagawa.
Shulman held 7♦7♠, which wasn't good enough to double up as Nakagawa had A♦K♠ for a pair of aces. Shulman was eliminated right before the three table redraw.
Julie Huynh raised and called the shove from Barbara Enright in the blinds, who was short stacked with around 350,000.
Barbara Enright: A♠A♣
Julie Huynh: 8♣8♠
Enright was in great shape for a double up, and the board initially brought no surprises with 10♣3♦4♣3♣. However, the river fell 8♥, giving Huynh a set and eliminating the three-time WSOP bracelet winner from the event.
After a player recalled how Christine Brewer had just cracked aces in a previous hand with her queen-seven off suit, Brewer found herself all in again with two opponents just a few hands later.
Lang Yi had opened from early position and Yansong Kou moved all in from the hijack for her remaining 300,000. Christine Brewer jammed on the button for 325,000, and Lang Yi called.
Yansong Kou: 8♦8♣
Christine Brewer: Q♥Q♣
Lang Yi: A♣A♥
Yi was ahead, and Brewer stood to watch the runout.
The J♠A♦K♠ came on the flop, improving Yi but also giving Brewer outs with the straight draw.
Brewer hit on the 10♦ turn, and nothing changed on the 6♥ river, securing yet another huge pot for Brewer and eliminating Kou from the tournament.
Day 3, the penultimate day of the 2025 World Series of Poker Event #70: $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas, kicks off at 12 p.m. today with just 50 players left.
