2025 World Series of Poker
As soon as the bubble had burst, several short stacks got their chips into the middle. Among them was also Paul Radcliffe, who was up against Christopher Frank with a repot. Ryan Hoenig had invested 80,000 by then and opted to fold when Frank reraised the pot behind.
Paul Radcliffe: K♦Q♦10♠10♣
Christopher Frank: K♣K♥6♣5♦
The J♦J♣9♣2♠4♦ board changed nothing despite some sweat with the open-ended straight draw, sending Radcliffe to the rail.
Soon after the bubble had burst, Pratik Ghatge was all-in for 49,000 with the A♥Q♥Q♣4♠ and John Holley put him to the tesdt with the A♣K♣10♥8♦.
The A♠Q♠9♥7♥8♥ board gave Ghatge a set on the flop and flush on the river to survive.
With around 225,000 in the middle already, Michael Rocco and Edgar Varas saw the dealer put out a flop of 6♠Q♠8♣. Varas' final 16,000 got into the middle with Rocco trying to bust him.
Edgar Varas: A♠A♦10♠8♦
Michael Rocco: Q♦8♠7♣5♦
Varas had aces and a flush draw against the top two pair of Rocco.
The 5♣ turn meant Varas was one card away from elimination. The 7♦ fell on the river, and Varas was the bubble boy for the tournament. The pot was pushed to Rocco, and the remaining 132 were in the money.
With the tournament still on the stone bubble, Ashok Kamani moved all in under the gun for 78,000. Action folded to Miltiadis Kyriakides, in the big blind, who made the call.
Once the tournament director had confirmed all other tables had completed the hand they were on, he instructed the players to reveal their cards.
Ashok Kamani: A♠A♦K♥3♦
Miltiadis Kyriakides: K♦Q♠10♠7♠
The flop of 4♥5♣3♠ kept Kamani in the lead, but things got a bit nervy for him on the 10♥ turn, as Kyriakides now had a pair.
The river 5♥ was a safe one for Kamani, though, giving him a double up to avoid being the dreaded bubble boy.
Rafael Rodriguez was all in for his last 10,000 in the big blind and Ryan Hoenig limped in from early position. Christopher Frank raised to 45,000 in the cutoff and Hoenig called to create a side pot.
The flop came Q♣8♣4♦ and Hoenig check-called a bet of 40,000 from Frank. The 7♦ landed on the turn and Hoenig checked again. Frank splashed in a bet of 115,000 and Hoenig check-raised all in for 515,000. Frank made the call and a massive crowd gathered to sweat the two all-ins.
Rafael Rodriguez: K♦7♣4♥3♠
Ryan Hoenig: Q♠Q♥J♥8♥
Christopher Frank: Q♦J♣10♦9♣
Hoenig had a set of queens which left Rodriguez already drawing dead. However, Frank had two flush draws and a wrap for a straight. The river was the 7♥ which gave Hoenig the best full house and he doubled through Frank.
Justus Marsico raised the pot to 35,000 in the cutoff with 27,000 behind and Loren Egide jammed in the next seat.
"It's gonna be this table, eh, and now the big stack bully wants to bust us both," Egide jammed while Stefan Lehner in the big blind tanked but was ultimately folding.
As the crowd was waiting for the other tables to finish, they had already joked that it was likely a split pot as both had pocket aces.
Justus Marsico: A♦A♣K♣3♠
Loren Egide: A♠A♥9♠3♣
The 8♥2♠2♥10♥4♣ board indeed delivered the split pot, and the action continued two off the money.
Anson Tsang checked from the big blind on a flop of 3♥7♣Q♣, and Joao Estanislau bet 85,000 from under the gun. Tsang check-jammed for 267,000, which Estanislau called.
Anson Tsang: A♣9♦8♣2♦
Joao Estanislau: 10♣9♣4♥3♠
Tsang managed to stay alive by hitting nut flush on the river, as the rest of the board came 5♥4♣. The tournament remained two from the money.
“I probably played better than the last three I won. Everything went my way this tournament. I was always at the top of the leaderboard, never really got short, and probably played my best overall.”
That's what Michael Mizrachi had to say after he cruised to victory in Event #66: $50,000 Poker Players Championship.
Already sharing the record for most $50,000 Poker Players Championship victories with Brian Rast, Mizrachi now stands alone after capturing his historic fourth title on Saturday at the 2025 World Series of Poker. "The Grinder" conquered the 107-entry field, earning $1,331,322 from the $5,162,750 prize pool and further cementing his legacy as the event's most dominant force.
Mike Gorodinsky started the action with a limp in the cutoff, prompting the button and Venkat Chivukula, in the small blind, to do the same. The big blind player checked, and the four went to a flop.
Action checked around to the button on the 7♣K♥K♣ flop, who bet 20,000. Chivukula called, the big blind folded, but Gorodinsky executed a check-raise to 65,000. The player on the button folded, but Chivukula called once again.
Chivukula checked for a second time on the A♦ flop, but Gorodinsky wasn't done betting, pushing out a bet of 55,000, which Chivukula called.
The river 3♦ slowed the action down, with both players checking, aware of the bubble waiting to burst. Chivukula turned over Q♦7♥7♦6♣ for a flopped full house, but was given the bad news when Gorodinsky showed he had flopped a bigger full house with K♠10♥9♦7♠.
