2025 World Series of Poker
Here is a look at various stacks from around Horseshoe White, courtesy of the WSOP+ app.
Three-way to the Q♦9♣3♣8♥ turn, Vernon Barlow made a bet of 1,600 from the big blind. Krzystof Zapolski called in late position before Najeem Ajez raised to 8,500 in the hijack.
Barlow said goodbye to his cards, but Zapolski tossed in a call after some thinking time. The J♣ came on the river, and Zapolski decided to take the initiative with a bet of 11,500.
Ajez tanked for a couple of minutes, but eventually decided to fold his hand, surrendering the pot to his neighbor.
Spyridon Apartoglou raised preflop and Allen Kessler defended from the big blind.
Kessler checked the 9♦K♥6♠ flop and Apartoglou bet 1,000. Kessler didn't take long to slide out the call.
When the 10♠ came on the turn, Kessler chose to lead out for 2,400. Apartoglou raised to 6,500, which was enough to get Kessler to fold.
Heads-up on a flop of 9♠7♠4♥, Chance Kornuth bet 1,500 from the cutoff and Mrityunjay Jha called in the big blind.
The turn was the Q♥ and Jha led out for 4,500. Kornuth called to see the 7♣ river, where Jha bet another 6,500, representing most of Kornuth's remaining stack.
Kornuth stopped to take a sip of his tea before calling as Jha showed 10♥8♥ for a missed straight draw. Kornuth turned over A♠9♥ for two pair to win the pot.
"Chance, if you win this tournament, you owe him at least 10 percent," a tablemate said.
"He'll make the Christmas list for sure," Kornuth replied.
"I've doubled him up three times already," Jha added.
"And I still have half of a starting stack," Kornuth said.
