Jon Pardy raised his button to 2,000. Alexander Dombroff defended in the big blind, after which the 5♠2♦K♣ flop was fanned. Pardy continued for 1,300, and Dombroff check-called.
Pardy sized up to 3,300 on the 5♥ turn, and he tossed in 11,000 on the 4♦ river. Dombroff check-called again both times for Pardy to show 7♠5♣, trip fives. Dombroff sent his cards into the muck, and the pot was shipped to Pardy.
With around 14,000 in the pot on a 6♥3♠10♠ flop, Shamus Featherstone shoved from middle position, putting William Wolf to the test for his last 24,000.
"This is a tough spot. Do you have pocket threes, pocket sixes?" asked Wolf. After thinking some more, he dropped in his stack, leaving him at risk.

Wolf had made the right call, but still needed to fade a lot of outs as Featherstone had two overcards to go along with his flush draw.
Then Wolf that had to play catch-up, as the 9♠ on the turn gave Featherstone the flush he was looking for.
Only a spade on the river could save Wolf, but the Q♦ wasn't what he was after, meaning his Main Event dream was over.
Action was picked up on the flop in a pot between Alexander Dombroff in the small blind, and Stephen Friedrich in the hijack.
The flop rolled out Q♥6♣3♣ and Dombroff checked over to Friedrich who bet 3,000. Dombroff moved all in for 20,000 and Friedrich called to put him at risk.

Dombroff's flush draw came home on the A♦A♣ runout and he secured the double up through Dombroff.
Rintaro Kagawa had three-bet to 7,500 in the small blind before Michael Reisman moved all in for 55,000 in the cutoff. Kagawa took a minute before calling.

Kagawa had Reisman dominated as the A♠8♠9♠ flop also gave him a flush draw. The J♠ turn completed his flush, and Reisman was already drawing dead by the K♣ river and on his way to the rail.
Heads-up on a flop of 2♥9♣3♦, Gaetan Lheureux checked from the small blind to Leo Margets, who bet 1,000 from the big blind. Lheureux called.
Lheureux check-called a 2,300 bet from Margets on the 6♦ turn and then both players checked on the J♣ river.
Lheureux announced "Ace-king," and showed A♠K♠, but it was no good against Margets' 10♦6♣ for a turned pair of sixes.
Daniel Gordon raised to 2,000 on the button and Kyle Chang three-bet to 7,000 in the small blind. Gordon called and they went heads-up to a flop of Q♣3♦2♠.
Chang continued with a bet of 3,500 and Gordon called to see the 3♥ on the turn. Both players checked and the 4♥ completed the board. Chang fired out another bet of 7,500 and Gordon looked him up. Chang flipped over 8♠8♦ and Gordon was unable to beat him.
Leandro Bianchini limped on the button, which brought Nicholas Ronyecz along in the small blind, before Joseph Creekmore checked his option in the big blind.
When the action checked to Bianchini on the 3♣K♠Q♥ flop, he placed a bet of 1,200, which only Creekmore called.
Both players checked the 10♠ turn, and the dealer put out a 6♦ river. Creekmore had lost interest in the pot, check-folding to Bianchini's bet of 3,000.
Ronyecz made some enquiries about Bianchini's hand afterwards, and Bianchini was happy enough to let him know he had king-jack suited.
Picking up on the action on a completed board of 9♣6♥3♠7♥A♣, Zhiyuan Xu and Melanie Weisner were heads-up in a pot with around 10,000 in the middle. Xu checked from under the gun and Weisner tossed in a bet of 6,000 from the cutoff which Xu paid off.
Weisner turned over 10♣8♣ for a straight and Xu was forced to send his cards into the muck.
"The ace saved you?" Weisner questioned after the hand and Xu agreed that he was not a fan of the river card.
With around 25,000 already in the middle on a 10♥3♣5♣J♥ board, Andrius Chmieliauskas fired out 15,000 and Asako Kitamura raised to 40,000. Chmieliauskas then counted out his stack and moved all in for about 50,000, which Kitamura quickly called.

Chmieliauskas had flopped a set, but only had one out as Kitamura had turned a bigger set. The Main Event is full of twists and turns, but unfortunately for Chmieliauskas, not on this occasion as he couldn't find his one-outer on the 8♥ river, ending his run.
