Jones Over Bets and Wins

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In the big blind, James Hurley bet 4,000 on a flop of 82Q and a pot of around 10,000 and got the other two players in the hand to call - Ryan Jones on the button and Waheed Feda in the small blind.

The turn dropped 5 and all three players checked. On the river J, Feda shot out 5,000 pushing Hurley out of the pot. Jones overbet to 26,000, sending Feda to the tank.

Feda shuffled his chips and considered his options. After a few seconds, he conceded his hand and the pot to Jones.

Julius Pays Off Mcadam

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was joined on the flop of 910J, and Kyle Julius had checked from late position to Robert Mcadam on the button who fired out a bet of 5,500. Julius called.

The turn came the J, and again Julius check-called Mcadam's 11,000 bet this time, and the players saw the 2 roll off on the river.

Julius checked again, and Mcadam, not slowing down, pushed out a bet of 33,000. Julius thought for a while and made the call. Mcadam tabled QK for a flopped straight, and Julius instantly mucked his hand.

Two Players At Risk, Both Survive

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Shuofei Geng

Jeffrey Korn kicked the action off with a raise under the gun to 2,500. On his immediate left, Matthew Cannuli wasted little time in moving all in for 18,600. The action then folded to Shuofei Geng in the small blind. Geng requested a count of the all-in stack and, with his new information, made the call.

The preflop action wasn't complete yet, though, as Korn responded by moving all in himself, for a total of 23,300. Geng made the call, and the three players turned the cards onto their backs.

Matthew Cannuli: AJ All in
Jeffrey Korn: AK All in
Shuofei Geng: KQ

A promising situation for Korn, who had both players dominated. The A9Q flop only strengthened his position to receive a near triple up.

The turn, however, shot Cannuli into the lead, as the dealer flipped over the J.

The river J sealed the deal for Cannuli, as Korn watched his plans for a triple go up in flames.

The dealer tidied the pot up, sending Cannuli three times as many chips as he had started with, 9,400 in the direction of Korn, who had won the side pot, and nothing to Geng.

To add salt to the wound, Korn would be eliminated just a few hands later.

Spirins Gets a Massive Double from Kuhn

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Pavels Spirins
Pavels Spirins

Pavels Spirins raised to 2,600 in middle position and Robert Kuhn defended from the big blind. The flop came 853 and Kuhn checked to Spirins who continued with a bet. Kuhn check-raised to 16,000 and Spirins just called.

The turn brought the 9 and Kuhn checked again. Spirins fired out a bet of 13,500 and Kuhn check-raised to 47,000. Spirins called and the A landed on the river.

Kuhn checked for the third time and Spirins only gave him two options this time by shoving all in for 143,000. Kuhn asked for a count and went into the tank for at least two minutes.

"This might be the worst played hand ever," he said to himself while thinking. Kuhn eventually called and Spirins turned over 55 for a set of fives while Kuhn was forced to show his K8 for just a pair of eights.

Brumpacheco Makes Full House

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Joseph Brumpacheco, in early position and Bruce Carter, the big blind, were all in and at risk against Yoshihiro Morita, the original raiser from under the gun.

The flop J28 was already on the board when the chips went it, with Carter having 23,200, Brumpacheco 48,500.

Joseph Brumpacheco: JJAll in
Yoshihiro Morita: A2

Brumpacheco hit the flop to best Carter's queens with a set of jacks. Morita was drawing to a flush that might produce a double knockout.

The river and turn brought KK, giving Brumpacheco a full house and a new lease on his tournament life. Carter was knocked out.

Nahum Catches the Turn

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Kiyoung Kim opened to 3,000 in the cutoff and called a three-bet to 8,000 by Kfir Nahum on the button.

Both players checked on the 3105 flop and then Kim check-called a 5,000 bet from Nahum on the K turn.

Action checked down on the river and Kim turned over A10 for a pair of tens. Nahum revealed KQ for a pair of kings and was sent the pot.

Gutierrez Puts Capps In an Agonizing Spot

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After both players put in 7,800 preflop, action was picked up on the flop in a pot between Jesse Capps in hijack and Cristian Gutierrez in the cutoff.

The flop rolled out A39 and Capps check-called a bet of 5,200 from Gutierrez.

Both players checked the turn A to the river Q where Capps checked over to Gutierrez who bet 18,400.

Capps sat shaking his head while discussing with himself the hand for a little while.

"Why did it have to be a queen on the river," he lamented as he pondered his decision.

He thought for a little while longer, but ended up putting the chips into the middle. Gutierrez turned over AJ for three aces and Capps tossed what he told to the table was KxKx into the muck while Gutierrez took in a sizable pot.

Happy to Chop

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Nicholas Caouette check-raised to 11,000 in middle position after Giuseppe Pantaleo fired 4,400 into the pot of around 18,000 and a flop of Q65.

The both checked the turn 6. Caouette prudently bet 5,000 on the river 6. Panataleo, visibly uncertain, took a few seconds before he called.

Caouette showed QJ then Pantaleo turned over KQ for a chop. The dealer split the pot and Caouette scooped his share. Pantaleo smiled to himself as he got the other half of the pot.
