The Fields Combine For Day 3 of the 2025 WSOP Main Event

Main Event Bracelet 2025
Main Event Bracelet 2025

In some parts of the world, they say that three is the magic number. Today sees Day 3 of the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event, the third-biggest Main Event of all time.

With the prize pool confirmed and a cool $10,000,000 awaiting the winner, the surviving field now combines for the very first time as they set their sights on continuing their Main Event journey.

The next stop? The money. From the starting field of 9,735, just 3,453 players remain, and from them, just 1,461 will be guaranteed a $15,000 payout. While it's unclear whether the money will be reached on Day 3 — last year ended 12 off the money — what is clear is that the tension will continue to ramp up as the soft bubble approaches.

2025 WSOP Main Event Day 3 Top 10 Chip Counts

The WSOP continues to be a global affair with five countries and an unincorporated U.S. territory represented in the top 10 chip counts. Leading the way is Day 2abc leader Oleksii Kravchuk who looks likely to become the first player to reach the million chip mark, starting the day with 937,500. Behind him comes San Kim (799,000)

Other big stacks to end the night were Nazar Buhaiov (633,500), Daniyal Gheba (625,000), Ibrahim Senoussi (625,000), Pot-Limit Omaha specialist Miltiadis Kyriakides (547,500), the "world-famous" Pat Lyons (467,500) and former WSOP Player of the year Josh Arieh (448,500).

Craig Trost raised to 6,000 from the button and only Vincent Meli in the big blind called.

The flop rolled out 8105 and both players checked to the A turn where Meli bet 3,000.

Trost responded in turn by raising to 13,000 and Meli mucked his hand, ceding the pot to the Midwestern poker legend.

Schoonover Tank-Jams Into Vo's Flush

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Viet Vo
Viet Vo

Gary Tomes opened to 6,000 from the hijack and picked up two callers in Dustin Schoonover from the small blind & Viet Vo in the big blind.

The flop fell 3A8 and once it checked to Tomes, he continued for 7,000. Schoonover then check-raised to 17,000, Vo cold-called, and Tomes got out of the way.

A K landed on the turn and Schoonover checked it over to Vo, who bet 34,500. Schoonover had just under 80,000 in his stack and was in the tank for around four minutes while he contemplated how to proceed. He looked like he was going to call, then fold, but eventually decided to shove for 79,500.

"Oh my god, what the hell," said a shocked Vo, who was laughing to himself at the situation.

"All that time in the tank, it's probably going to work for you," he added. Eventually, after spending a few minutes in the tank himself, Vo called.

"Do you have a flush?" asked Schoonover. "Yeah, I got it," replied Vo.

Viet Vo: 93

Schoonover couldn't believe it and was up and out the door as soon as the 4 hit the river. Vo, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief that his flush was good, which brought his stack to around 240,000.

"Nice hand," said one of the table. Vo responded, "Man, I thought he had it. All that tanking was going to work out for him."

Down on the Farm

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Michael Rocco
Michael Rocco

High-stakes pro Michael Rocco took to farming after a series of near misses last year, and the beat he just received in the Main Event likely has him dreaming of crops and fields.

Picking up the action on a flop of Q64 in a three-way pot, Greg Raymer bet in early position and Michael Rocco called in the cutoff as Hung Nguyen called on the button.

Raymer bet 20,000 on the 7 turn and Rocco shuffled his chips behind rose-tinted sunglasses before moving all in for around 134,500. Nguyen folded and the 2004 Main Event champion called.

Michael Rocco: 53 All in
Greg Raymer: 66

Rocco had turned a straight on Raymer's set of sixes, but the dealer put down the Q river to improve Raymer to a full house. Rocco, visibly frustrated, flicked his chips toward the pot as he stood up from his seat.

Rocco regained his composure moments later and left on a light note. "You guys don't mind if I play with that 25,000 chip, do you?" he joked as he pointed to a green chip that the dealer had yet to give Raymer.

Park Picks Off the Bluff with Aces

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Hye Park
Hye Park

With around 90,000 already in the pot and the flop showing 6J8, Hye Park had 35,000 in front of him on the button when Fernando Rodriguez bumped it up to 90,000. Park didn’t rush, taking his time before making the call.

The J turn paired the board and added a potential flush draw to the mix. Rodriguez didn’t slow down, quickly firing a bet of 76,000. Park took his time, clearly facing a tough decision, before finally sliding in the chips to call, leaving himself just 65,000 behind.

The river brought the 3, completing the backdoor flush draw. This time Rodriguez checked, and after a pause, Park checked it back.

“I’ve got king-high,” Rodriguez admitted, but Park didn’t react, waiting until the hand was properly tabled. Rodriguez showed K7 for a bluff, and Park turned over AA for two pair, aces and jacks, dragging in a crucial pot from one of the Day 3 big stacks.

Lee Fades Goldman's Outs

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Noel Rodriguez raised to 5,000 from early position before Jeremy Goldman three-bet to 12,500 from the hijack. Stanley Lee cold four-bet to 30,000 out of the small blind, which only Goldman called.

Heads-up to the 5Q2 flop, where Lee continued with a bet of 23,000. Goldman made the call.

The J came on the turn, and after a few moments, Lee jammed for 70,000. Goldman went deep into thought, thinking for multiple minutes. Ultimately, Goldman made the call.

Stanley Lee: AA All in
Jeremy Goldman: AK

Lee was ahead with aces, but Goldman had straight and flush possibilities with his Big Slick. The 3 came on the river, and Lee doubled up through Goldman.

Shay Spikes Two Outer To Survive

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Bryan Shay opened on the button to 5,000 but met resistance in the form of a three-bet by Thien Tran in the big blind. Tran had raised to 17,500, and Shay made the call.

The dealer then provided a monotone 473 flop, and Tran continued for 13,000. Again, Shay came along with a call.

The Q turn saw sparks fly. Tran elected to check, and Shay took over the betting lead with a bet of 27,000. Tran immediately moved all in, and Shay called.

It was Shay who had the shorter stack and, as such, was at risk of elimination.

Bryan Shay: AQ All in
Thien Tran: AA

It was a sorry situation for Shay, whose spade draw wasn't even live and could only hit a queen to survive.

The deck smiled upon him, though, as the dealer burned and turned the Q, not only keeping him alive, but giving him twice as many chips to continue with.

Chan Hero Calls to Eliminate Ashelm

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Lok Chan
Lok Chan

Robert Ashelm from the small blind and Lok Chan from the cutoff were heads-up to the completed board of Q8625 with around 135,000 in the middle already.

Ashelm would lead all-in for 73,000, sending Chan into the tank. He was clearly pained by the decision as he apologized to the table for taking so much time. In actuality, he took just over a minute before he stuck in the call.

Robert Ashelm: 55 All in
Lok Chan: 33

Ashelm had rivered a set but had no heart in his hand as Chan made an impressive hero-call with just the three of hearts to drag a massive one and eliminate Ashelm.
