On the river of a 5♠5♦3♠K♥2♥ board, Chih-Wei Fan bet 55,000 and was raised to 115,000 by Brian Battistone. What followed was the shove by Fan and Battistone instantly flung his cards into the muck.
On the river of a 5♠5♦3♠K♥2♥ board, Chih-Wei Fan bet 55,000 and was raised to 115,000 by Brian Battistone. What followed was the shove by Fan and Battistone instantly flung his cards into the muck.
With the board showing 4♣Q♦3♦K♥Q♣ and around 280,000 in the pot, Max Neugebauer and Ivan Poroliev were locked in a heads-up battle. Neugebauer led out for 75,000 as the first to act, putting the pressure on Poroliev, who took his time to consider the spot.
After a long tank, Poroliev eventually released his hand, conceding the pot to Neugebauer, who quietly added a healthy boost to his stack.
Just a few hands later, Jonathan Pardy hit the rail from the same table.
Ramon Munoz opened from middle position before Rich Wu three-bet from the cutoff, and Munoz called to create a pot of 73,000.
On the montone A♥5♥4♥ flop, Munoz checked to Wu who continued for 20,000 and Munoz put in the call.
The 8♥ turn would then check through to the 6♠ river which saw Munoz lead for 60,000. Wu would think it over for almost a minute before he elected to fold as Munoz dragged one without showdown.
Kanishka Upreti made it 10,000 from under the gun and Aaron Thomas jammed for 106,000 out of the small blind. Upreti made the call to put Thomas at risk.
Aaron Thomas: A♦Q♦
Kanishka Upreti: J♠J♥
Thomas was already out of his seat heading to the 6♥5♥6♠ flop. The 10♣ fell on the turn, and Thomas needed an ace or queen on the river to survive. The river was the 9♥, and all of Thomas' chips headed over to Upreti.
Arsenii Karmatckii opened to 11,000 with A♣Q♥ and Joey Padron three-bet to 32,000 from the hijack. Mizrachi four-bet to 81,000 from the cutoff, Karmatcii folded and Padron five-bet to 232,000, leaving 198,000 behind. Mizrachi six-bet shoved with a covering stack and Padron snap-called.
Joey Padron: A♥A♦
Michael Mizrachi: K♠K♥
Padron was on the right side of the ultimate cooler and after remaining ahead on the 9♠J♣6♣7♣6♠ runout he dragged in a colossal double up at Mizrachi's expense.
Angelina Rich had her stack of 72,000 in the middle and was put at risk by Ryan Torgersen.
Angelina Rich: A♦Q♠
Ryan Torgersen: K♠Q♥
Rich was in the lead and was a big favorite to double up, but the Q♦K♣2♦ flop had other ideas as Torgersen made two pair.
No ace arrived on the 4♠J♥ runout, which meant Rich was eliminated as the money bubble looms ever closer.
Gennadiy Dvosis raised to 16,000 in the small blind and Marijan Rankic three-bet jammed in the big blind. Dvosis gave it some thought and called with a stack of 139,000.
Gennadiy Dvosis: 10♠10♥
Marijan Rankic: 9♣9♦
"Why did you tank with nines?" Rankic said in disgust. "Nine is coming!"
"If it's coming, it's coming," Dvosis said stoically.
As it turned out, the board ran out Q♣A♥2♦5♦10♣ for Dvosis to hit a third ten for an emphatic double, but Rankic still wasn't over the preflop action.
"He didn't slow roll you or nothin'," someone at the table said.
"I thought I was flipping," added Dvosis.
Wu Guangbiao moved all in from the small blind for 64,000 and Milan Patel in the big blind looked down at his cards.
"Sorry bro," he said as he put in the chips to call.
Wu Guangbiao: K♣Q♦
Milan Patel: A♣A♠
No waiting for Patel as the flop of A♦7♠8♣ gave him top set and it held up on the 2♥3♣ runout to eliminate Guangbiao from the tournament.
Simon Burns just recalled a big pot that happened not so long ago, which resulted in the elimination of Matthew Wantman.
John Jankowski had raised to 11,000 preflop and got a call from Wantman, Derek Dufour, and the big blind. They went to a flop of 10♦9♦3x, where once the action got to Jankowski, he bet 60,000. Wantman then shoved, Dufour called, and Jankowski also called, creating a pot of around 500,000.
The players then took it to showdown on the A♦Q♦ runout, which put four to a flush out there.
Wantman flipped 9x9x for a set of nines, Dufour held 10x10x with a set of tens, and Jankowski took it down with AxAx with his set of aces!
Yuriy Boyko opened from middle position and found resistance quickly, as Jarod Ludemann three-bet to 33,000 from the hijack. Francisco Lopez upped the pressure with a four-bet to 80,000 in the cutoff. Unfazed, Boyko moved all in for 228,000.
Ludemann got out of the way, but Lopez took a moment to think it through.
“I know I’m ahead, but…” Boyko muttered as Lopez counted out his chips and eventually made the call.
Yuriy Boyko: K♣K♥
Francisco Lopez: A♣K♠
Lopez was dominated and couldn’t find the miracle ace as the board ran out 2♣5♦9♦10♦8♣, securing Boyko a crucial double-up with his pocket kings.
