Fagan Triples, Leaves Gross on the Outside Looking In

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

The action folded to Shawn Fagan in the cutoff who ripped all in for around 300,000. Alan Sternberg called on the button and Jeff Gross stuck in the last of his 140,000 chips from the small blind.

Jeff Gross: AKAll in
Shawn Fagan: QJAll in
Alan Sternberg: A8

The flop came 1097 and Gross was still in the lead but his opponents had plenty of equity. The turn brought the K to give Fagan the nut straight and both of his opponents were left drawing dead to the 7 on the river. Fagan earned nearly a triple up while Gross was sent to the rail early on Day 5.

From middle position, Roman Korenev raised to 40,000, and only Christian Portillo called from the big blind.

Veloso Flops Set for Double Knockout

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Raja Chirumamilla
Raja Chirumamilla

It had been a slow start in the Horseshoe Gold section withPokerNews witnessing six consecutive raise-folds.

Finally, there was action at Table 637 as Justin Pechie opened to 50,000 on the button and Raja Chirumamilla three-bet jammed a stack of 450,000 in the small blind. Sergio Veloso then shoved a stack of 1,565,000 from the big blind to put Pechie to a decision.

"There's no way," he said. "Sorry if I'm nitrolling you."

After hearing that, Veloso immediately called the clock, but the dealer told him enough time hadn't passed. Soon after, Pechie called off with a stack of around 1,200,000.

Raja Chirumamilla: 1010 All in
Justin Pechie: AK All in
Sergio Veloso: 99

Veloso took a huge lead as the flop landed 49Q to give him a set. He was far from gracious after the big suckout, clapping his hands and taking a lap as the board finished out AK to earn him a double knockout.

He returned to the table and shook Pechie's hand, but Chirumamilla wasn't in the mood for niceties and headed to the payout counter.

Early Double for Liberto

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Christopher Alcindor had started the day with a mere 12 and a half big blinds and just invested all but one of them to the AKJ flop on which he checked. Andrejs Prost bet 25,000 to cover the last bit of Alcindor, who went into the tank and jokingly asked Prost how much he started with before a forced smile saw him fold and walk to the rail.

In the very next hand on that table, Scott Allacher raised to 50,000 and James Charbonneau three-bet to 140,000 two seats over. Justin Liberto four-bet jammed for 525,000 and Allacher folded, while Charbonneau called rather swiftly.

Justin Liberto: KK All in
James Charbonneau: 99

The superior pocket pair remained ahead on the Q3345 runout, and Liberto doubled.

Soon after that, Alcindor was eliminated after he couldn't spin up the one big blind and change.

Ten Arrives a Street Too Late For Wysotchanski as Bandeira Doubles

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Lucas Bandeira moved all in for 550,000 from the button and Wagner Wysotchanski put him at risk in middle position.

Lucas Bandeira: QQ All in
Wagner Wysotchanski: AJ

Wysotchanski went from looking for an ace to hoping for a ten following the KQ5 flop as Bandeira hit a set, while Wysotchanski picked up a straight draw. The turn, though, was the K to improve Bandeira to a full house.

Wysotchanski was already drawing dead, and the 10 river was merely a cruel tease as Bandeira doubled up.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Greg Merson limped in from the cutoff with A8 and Josselin Gardes raised to 80,000 on the button with Q9. Chris Viox called in the big blind with KJ, then Merson made it 315,000.
