Brad Owen limped in from the small blind and Esther Taylor raised to 100,000 from the big blind. Owen shoved for 560,000 and Taylor called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Owen was ahead with a pair of sevens against king-high on the 7♦5♦8♦ flop. The 4♦ turn brought in some chop outs but the 5♠ river was a brick and Owen doubled up at Taylor's expense.
Heads-up to the 8♠6♦2♣ flop, Francis Rusnak checked out of the big blind and Denis Strebkov bet 40,000. The check-shove of Rusnak for 245,000 followed, and Strebkov called after brief consideration.

Rusnak was behind but had two overcards and a gutshot at his disposal. The 8♥ turn changed nothing, and neither did the K♥ river, sending Rusnak to the payout desk.
Yuchen Chen made it 50,000 to go in late position with A♣J♦. Stephen Hesse defended 6♦4♦ in his big blind, and the two saw a flop of Q♦9♥2♦. Chen continued for 95,000, and Hesse called.
The J♣ turn checked through to the J♠ river, where Hesse led out for 250,000. Chen raised to 600,000, which spelled the end of the hand as Hesse mucked his bricked draw.
Chad Bleznick moved all in for 230,000 on the button and Viktor Blom called in the small blind.

Bleznick had Blom dominated until the flop brought J♣5♥2♠, giving Blom the lead with a pair of deuces. The rest of the board ran out J♦6♥ and Bleznick was sent to the rail.
Iman Alsaden jammed his last 85,000 into the middle from early position. The action folded around to Rohit Mariwalla in the big blind, who took one at his cards and immediately called.

Alsaden didn't find the help he needed on the Q♣10♥10♣2♦J♥ runout to crack the aces of Mariwalla, meaning his Main Event journey was over.
Everton Taylor opened to 60,000 in the cutoff, and Brett Kennedy defended in the big blind.
Kennedy checked on the flop of K♥J♦3♠ and Taylor continued for 30,000. Kennedy check-raised to 75,000, and Taylor called. Both players then checked on the A♠ turn.
Kennedy checked once more on the J♥ river, and Taylor fired a bet of 120,000.
"I hate that river. I have a king," Kennedy said before folding.
Kyle Taddei and Miltiadis Kyriakides got the chips in preflop with two premium hands in a classic race, with Taddei barely covering Kyriakides, who was at risk for 985,000.

Kyriakides needed to improve to stay alive, and improve he did when the flop came K♠6♦4♥ to jump into the lead.
The 10♦ turn was safe for Kyriakides, but the river was much crueler as it came the Q♥ on the river, which elicited a reaction from both players as Kyriakides had an outburst of disappointment.
Greg Merson limped in with Q♥10♦ from the cutoff and Chris Viox checked his option in the big blind with A♥4♥.
On the Q♠2♠J♠ flop, Viox led out for 25,000 and Merson called to the 5♦ turn, where again Viox fired out a bet, this time for 75,000. Merson called again.
A 7♣ hit the river and Viox bet 85,000 with his ace-high, which wasn't enough to force out Merson, who quickly called with his pair of queens to win the pot.
Joey Padron was in the cutoff and raised to 50,000. Isaac Haxton called in the big blind, and check-called Padron's bet of 60,000 on the 7♦J♥Q♣ flop.
The 4♠ turn then checked through to the 6♥ river, where Haxton fired a bet of 130,000. Padron instantly called, but he mucked his J♠10♦ when Haxton tabled Q♥5♥ for a pair of queens.
Brian Arbaugh opened to 50,000 from middle position and Adrien Delmas called from the cutoff.
Both players checked the 2♦K♥10♥ flop leading to the 4♣ turn. Arbaugh bet 100,000 and Delmas called.
Arbaugh bet 200,000 on the 5♦ river. Delmas called and showed second pair with A♠10♠. Arbaugh had a higher pair with Q♠Q♣ to take the pot.
