Power Takes Over the Chip Lead

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Chad Power
Chad Power

Chad Power opened from the hijack with K10 and Sebastian Schulze called in the cutoff with AQ. David Swift also called in the small blind.

They went to a flop of AJ6, where Swift checked and Power bet 225,000. Schulze called and Swift folded.

Power checked the Q turn when he made Broadway, and Schulze fired out 515,000 with his top two pair. Power just called.

A 3 on the river was a brick and again Power checked, then Schulze fired 1,600,000. Power took some time before he announced a raise to 5,000,000, which sent Schulze into the tank. After a few minutes, Schulze couldn't find the fold, and sent a large pile of chips over to Power once he saw the bad news.

Esther Taylor moved in her last 900,000 from the button and Bradley Jansen snap-called in the big blind.

Esther Taylor: 1010 All in
Bradley Jansen: AQ

Chih Fan gave Taylor his blue cartoon figurine holding a leaf as a souvenir as she awaited the flip that would decide her tournament life. The flop came A53 and Jansen took the lead with a pair of aces. The rest of the board ran out KJ and Taylor went around the table giving each of her opponents a hug before making her exit.

Taylor's elimination means Leo Margets is the last woman remaining in the field.

The A came in on the turn, and Rosborough checked for a second time. Kasic sized down to 500,000 and was sent into the blender after Rosborough jammed for 2,760,000. Kasic called as the bigger stack to set up a massive pot.

Kassouf Gets His Hand Killed

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
William Kassouf
William Kassouf

Leon Sturm raised to 160,000 on the button with K5 and Will Kassouf defended from the big blind with 109. The flop came 872 and Kassouf checked to Sturm who continued with a bet of 300,000.

"If I have it, and you have it, that is what they call a cooler," Kassouf started rambling. He eventually asked Sturm how much he was playing and then stood up and walked around the dealer to get a better view.

In the meantime, the clock was called on Kassouf and tournament floor supervisor, Bob Smith, arrived at the table to see that Kassouf was not near his seat.

"Your hand is dead," Smith said.

"What do you mean? My hand is not dead! I was just seeing how much he's got behind," Kassouf argued.

"You left your chair, you vacated your seat, your hand is dead," Smith replied with a firm tone.

"Can I just call? I call, Bob," Kassouf splashed chips into the pot.

"You vacated your seat, your hand is dead!" Smith iterated as he walked away from the table.

Kassouf's cards were pulled into the muck and the pot was shipped to Sturm.
