Wasnock Makes the Right Fold as Vox Turns the Nuts

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

John Wasnock opened from early position with AK and Vladimir Nex called in the small blind holding A10.

Nex check-called a bet from Wasnock on the 9QA flop to see the 7 fall on the turn. Nex checked again with his nut flush and Wasnock fired out 350,000. Nex then shoved, which put Wasnock to the test for the 1,400,000 he had behind.

Wasnock eventually came to the right decision and folded his top pair, and Nox raked in the pot.

Kassouf Gets His Hand Killed

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
William Kassouf
William Kassouf

Leon Sturm raised to 160,000 on the button with K5 and Will Kassouf defended from the big blind with 109. The flop came 872 and Kassouf checked to Sturm who continued with a bet of 300,000.

"If I have it, and you have it, that is what they call a cooler," Kassouf started rambling. He eventually asked Sturm how much he was playing and then stood up and walked around the dealer to get a better view.

In the meantime, the clock was called on Kassouf and tournament floor supervisor, Bob Smith, arrived at the table to see that Kassouf was not near his seat.

"Your hand is dead," Smith said.

"What do you mean? My hand is not dead! I was just seeing how much he's got behind," Kassouf argued.

"You left your chair, you vacated your seat, your hand is dead," Smith replied with a firm tone.

"Can I just call? I call, Bob," Kassouf splashed chips into the pot.

"You vacated your seat, your hand is dead!" Smith iterated as he walked away from the table.

Kassouf's cards were pulled into the muck and the pot was shipped to Sturm.

Michael Garner
Michael Garner

The action started with a button raise to 160,000 by Tony Gregg on the button and Michael Garner in the big blind asked "do you know how much you started with?" before flat-calling.

The 642 flop was checked and Garner checked the K on the turn as well. Gregg bet 235,000 and Garner check-called.

That led them to the 2 on the river on which both players checked through. Garner revealed his K10 and that won the pot for the larger stack.

Rodrigo Jim raised to 200,000 under the gun and Nicolas Enjamio three-bet to 600,000 in the hijack. Jim then four-bet to 1,000,000, Enjamio five-bet to 1,600,000, and Jim called.

Enjamio moved all in for 835,000 on the J river and Jim tanked for a few minutes until calling. Enjamio turned over AA and Jim tossed his cards into the muck. The dealer tried to retrieve them and ended up showing 64, although the table was unsure if those were Jim's actual cards.

Jim remained silent while he handed over most of his stack.

At the same time at another table, Bruno Furth and Benjamin Williams went to the river on a board of A8A10K with around 1,500,000 in the middle. Williams then moved all in for 2,050,000 in early position and Furth tanked for several minutes until calling.

Williams turned over J9 for a rivered flush, and Furth flashed an ace before handing over the double up.

Leo Margets
Leo Margets

Chih Fan opened to 160,000 in middle position and Leo Margets three-bet to 700,000 in the big blind. Fan took some time and juked like he was grabbing a stack of chips before eventually four-betting to 1,2500,000. Margets called as cameras gathered overhead.

Margets checked on the flop of 8Q8 and Fan sized all the way down to 400,000. margets called. Margets checked again on the 6 turn and Fan went deep into the tank before checking back.

Trost Executes a Huge Bluff

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Craig Trost
Craig Trost

Sam Darkin raised with Q9 to 160,000 from the hijack. Craig Trost called on the button with 87, and Nazar Buhaiov defended his big blind with 75.

Buhaiov checked first when the 4510 flop was exposed, and Darkin bet 250,000. Trost and Buhaiov called.

Buhaiov now took the betting lead on the 5 turn as he led out for 575,000. Darkin folded, but Trost raised to 1,200,000. Buhaiov deliberated for quite some time before sliding in the call.

With 1,400,000 remaining in his stack, Buhaiov checked for the last time upon seeing the 3 roll off on the river. Trost shoved to but Buhaiov all in, causing Buhaiov to lean back in his chair and look to the heavens, visibly distraught by the situation he was in.

Around three minutes passed before Buhaiov reluctantly threw his cards into the muck. Trost started joyfully clapping as he slid his cards face down to the dealer, and the pot was pushed to him.

Merson Catches Skhulukhiya on a Move

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Greg Merson
Greg Merson

Giorgiy Skhulukhiya defended out of the small blind against Greg Merson and both then invested 85,000 on the 977 flop. Skhulukhiya bet the 2 turn for 175,000 for Merson to call and the A river slowed down Skhulukhiya as he opted to check.

Merson made it 325,000 to go and Skhulukhiya check-raised for nearly his entire stack after brief consideration for what appears to be 1,850,000. Merson only needed a few seconds before he called and was shown the 92 by Skhulukhiya, which he had beat with the AK to drag in a very healthy pot.
