"I Just Felt Lucky"; Afriat Smacks the River in the Pot of the Tournament

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

Eric Afriat raised to 250,000 under the gun and Bruno Furth called in early position. Benjamin Williams then moved all in for 1,400,000 from middle position and both opponents called.

The flop came Q32 and Afriat bet 1,000,000. Furth called and the 9 fell on the turn. Afriat then bet 3,000,000 and Furth moved all in for 8,140,000.

Afriat took a moment before calling, creating a pot worth more than 20,000,000. Williams showed AA, Furth had QQ for top set, while Afriat had J10 for straight and flush draws.

The river was the K to give Afriat his straight and the massive pot. "I'm so sorry," he told Furth, embracing his defeated opponent before going off to celebrate with his rail as he climbed up near 30,000,000.

"I had my lucky masseuse with me. I just felt lucky," Afriat said after the hand.

Braxton Dunaway

First, Dmitrii Perfilev got a preflop shove through against Yuchen Chen and the same table then saw a raise to 300,000 by Mitchell Hynam. Braxton Dunaway called in the hijack and Perfilev was seemingly interested when he asked, "you both have around the same?" before folding from the small blind.

The Q32 flop was checked and Hynam also checked the 6 turn. Dunaway now bet 525,000 and that won the pot.
