Jonathan Dimatteo pushed his entire stack of 73,000 to the middle of the table. Only Ruiliang Hong, next to him, decided to call.
Jonathan Dimatteo: 10♦8♦
Ruiliang Hong: 9♦9♣
The board came out with A♣10♠6♥5♥K♦. Dimatteo pair of tens held up against the pocket nines of Hong.
Alexandre Arantes opened from the button to 22,000. Timothy Acker in the big blind reraised allin with 120,000. Arantes chose to call.
Timothy Acker: 2♣2♦
Alexandre Arantes: A♥10♥
The dealer showed the board 9♥8♥3♣J♣10♣. The ten on the river was crucial for Arantes to win. Acker stood up, thanked the table, and left for the payout desk.
Hayato Kitajima raised to 20,000 from under the gun and was called by Huahuan Feng in the small blind and Seungwoo Son in the big blind.
The players saw a 7♦K♥4♣ flop, action checked to Kitajima, who bet 25,000, Feng called, and Son folded.
The turn card was the 4♥. Feng checked again, and Kitajima decided to go all in for roughly 85,000. After taking some time, Feng tossed his cards into the muck.
Suren Dharanikota raised to 20,000 and Michael Wasserman three-bet next to him for 120,000, with around 15,000 chips left behind. Justin Truesdell shoved in the blinds for less and Dharanikota folded:
Justin Truesdell: A♦A♠
Michael Wasserman: 9♦9♥
Truesdell had good hopes for a double up but the board brought 9♠7♥2♥5♥3♣ to give a set to Wasserman and he left the tournament area.
The action was picked with a flop of J♥10♥9♥ and all the chips in the middle between Robert Simmons and Patrick Popowski, who both had a nice stack of around 350,000 chips.
Popowski held A♥K♥ for the nut flush while Simmons held 10♣10♠ for a set of tens. The K♦ turn and A♠ river didn't change anything and Simmons busted while Popowski climbed to a huge stack above 800,000.
Talesh Patel opened up the action under the gun, with a raise to 16,000. Paul Cukier then shoved from late position, for his remaining 38,000 chips. Adrien Guyon called all-in from the cutoff for just 15,000, and Patel called too.
"I'm gambling here," said Cukier. Guyon replied, saying that he had "the best hand."
Adrien Guyon: Q♣Q♠
Paul Cukier: 9♠8♠
Talesh Patel: 6♣6♠
As if the 2♥3♠J♠ wasn't enough of a sweat, the 10♦ turn improved Cukier to both a straight and flush draw. The Q♦ river gave Guyon top set, but improved Cukier to a straight.
"I knew I was gonna win this hand," he said while bringing in the chips.
