Bonham Drags in Huge One

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Preflop action has become somewhat of a rarity here in Event: 85 $600 Ultra Stack, however it seemed as though players would maybe see three cards, as Matthew Bonham raised to 700,000 under the gun, and was called by both Kirk Staples in the hijack, and Bradley Moore in the cutoff.

Albert Ng then made a huge play by shoving for over 14,000,000, covering the other three. Bonham called all in, the other two did not.

Matthew Bonham: QQ All in
Albert Ng: JJ

The flop brought a huge sweat, as 98K brought the equities almost even. Bonham managed to fade hearts and jacks on the 55 runout, as he scooped in a huge pot to become the overwhelming chip leader at the table, with over three average stacks.

Thomas Di Francesco moved all-in from early position, and action folded to Roei Simantov in late position, who made the call.

Thomas Di Francesco: 97All in
Roei Simantov: A8

A lovely flop of 975 came for Di Francesco, and when the 9 dropped on the turn, he was guaranteed a double up. The Q completed the runout, and the chips were pushed Di Francesco's way.

Larsen Hero Calls Suzuki Due to Redbull Influence

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Takaaki Suzuki raised 1,500,000 for the small blind, and Christian Larsen called from the big blind. The flop came out with J43, and Suzuki checked, while Larsen made it 750,000. Suzuki called.

Both players checked the turn A.

On the river 2, Suzuki put Larsen to the test and bet out 1,800,000. Larsen took quite a while to make his decision, but ultimately called because PokerNews was there to catch the action.

Suzuki stated, "Good hand," and flipped over K10, and Larsen turned over J6 for a pair of jacks and the win.

Larsen stated, "Get another Red Bull going."

One of the other players joked back, "You have had quite enough, sir."

Fernando Banda
Fernando Banda

Action was folded to Fernando Banda in the small blind, who went into the tank for 4-5 minutes before he raised to 1,075,000, leaving himself just 25,000 behind. Zhengyu Guan in the big blind pushed out enough chips for a minimum raise to put him all-in, and he called after the floor gave their ruling.

The board ran out 289A10 and Banda was pushed the pot for a full double up and more.

Overkill for Trager

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

David Trager opened the action with an all-in from middle position. He was about to get it through, until Adam Greenlee asked for a count in the big blind. After some thought, he made the call.

David Trager: AQ All in
Adam Greenlee: K9

Trager's lead became even more commanding on the 37Q flop. The 5 turn was a bit of a sweat, but the A river gave him an unnecessary two pair, as he leapfrogged Greenlee in chips.

Defending Champ Jonathan Tamayo Wins Lucky Flip for WSOP Main Event Seat

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Jonathan Tamayo
Jonathan Tamayo

Reigning World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion Jonathan Tamayo flipped his way into this year's championship event, meaning he won't even have to put up the $10,000 buy-in to defend his title.

Tamayo announced on Sunday that he won a WSOP Online $160 All-In Flipament, a flip-and-go-style event that puts players all-in blind and that needs 64 players to run, according to Kevin Mathers.

Tamayo demonstrated his luck a year ago when he navigated the largest WSOP Main Event field in history to win $10 million. The longtime poker pro from Texas proved luck is still on his side in 2025.

"I won the 3pm one it seems," Tamayo wrote on X.
