Boeree Snaps Off Wise

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Patrick Wise raised to 2,500 in middle position before Liv Boeree three-bet to 6,000 in the hijack. Wise then four-bet to 18,000, and Boeree called.

The flop came 2JA and Wise moved all in for 30,000. Boeree snap-called.

Patrick Wise: AK All in
Liv Boeree: JJ

Wise showed top pair, but Boeree had flopped a set to take a big lead in the pot. The 3 turn left Wise drawing dead, while the K river wasn't enough for him to avoid heading to the rail.

Hutchison with the Quick Call

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

There were roughly 15,000 chips in the middle on a flop of 4AQ.

Carlos Guerrero on the button fired out a bet of 4,000, and Dean Hutchison in the cutoff called. Guerrero followed up with another bet of 10,000 on the 8 turn, and Hutchison called again.

Guerrero seemed to go for three streets of betting on the 2 river for 25,000 and Hutchison quickly called. Guerrero then tabled the nuts with K7 and scooped the pot.

Poker's Classic Flip

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jonathan Kramer raised to 2,000 under the gun, and when the action folded to Cameron Blazevich in the big blind, he moved all in. Kramer had the smaller of the two stacks, with just over 27,000, and made the call.

Jonathan Kramer: QQ All in
Cameron Blazevich: AK

The deck favoured Blazevich on this occasion, as the 510A25 improved him to a better two-pair, sending Kramer to the rail.

Zickefoose Has Mathers Dead by the Turn

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Three players saw the 93K flop with around 35,000 in the middle. Kevin Xu led out for 8,000 from the small blind and was met by a raise to around 22,500 from Bradley Mathers in middle position. Ryan Zickefoose, seated in the hijack, thought for a while before jamming for about 60,000. Xu got out of the way, but Mathers made the call.

Ryan Zickefoose: 33 All in
Bradley Mathers: AK

Zickefoose was way out in front with a flopped set against the top pair of Mathers, and once the Q landed on the turn, Mathers was drawing dead.

The 4 completed the board as little more than a formality, and Zickefoose was pushed the pot, more than doubling up to around 165,000.

Maxwell Guo: 87 All in

Martini Slows Down Grupp With River Shove

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Kyle Grupp raised to 2,200 on the button and was called by Julien Martini and Matthew Lubawski in the blinds.

All three players checked the 9108 flop. Martini then led out for 4,000 on the 5 turn, and both Lubawski and Grupp called.

Action checked to Grupp on the Q river, and he bet 11,000. Martini then moved all in for 51,800 and Lubawski folded, while Grupp tanked for a minute before also giving up his hand.

Despite dropping that pot, Grupp, who finished 54th in last year's Main Event, is still sitting on more than 300,000.

Coker Stuffs it on Roberts

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ayodesi Coker raised to 2,100 from the cutoff to see Scott Roberts in the big blind three-bet to 7,200 and Coker called.

The flop rolled out J93 and Roberts bet 6,000 to see Coker move all in for 18,200.

Roberts nodded before tossing his hand away and Coker added a significant sum to his stack.

Moyers Gets Pressed

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

There was about 16,000 in the middle when this hand was picked up on the flop of 9Q5.

Stephen Press chose to bet 7,500 on the button, but Anthony Moyers was willing to risk it all as they went all-in for approximately 33,000. Press was undeterred as they made the call to put Moyers at risk.

Anthony Moyers: QJAll in
Stephen Press: KK

Press had the overpair, but it was a sweat as Moyers held top pair and a flush draw for a healthy amount of outs.

The 2 turn was a blank to keep Press ahead.

Press held on the 7 river to seal the deal and eliminate Moyers from contention.

Aces Set the Trap

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Brittney Barnes raised to 2,200 under the gun, and was the only caller when Ritvars Cekalins three-bet to 6,700 in middle position.

Barnes checked over to Cekalins on a J610 flop, who continued with a bet of 5,000. Barnes then sprang her trap, check-raising all in for 30,200. Cekalins gave it some thought, but then elected to call.

Brittney Barnes: AA All in
Ritvars Cekalins: AK

The 8 turn and 9 river were clean for Barnes, seeing her aces provide her a full double-up.
