Eric Baldwin

Eric Baldwin raised to 6,000 from early position to see Levon Khachatryan call in the small blind. In the big blind, Steven Rivero raised to 26,000 prompting Baldwin to jam for 103,000. Khachatryan folded while Rivero called with the covering stack.

Eric Baldwin: AK All in

Banducci Extends Chip Lead

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Michael Banducci
Michael Banducci

Aleksandr Boitcov opened from early position and was called by Michael Banducci in the cutoff and Michael Weiss in the big blind.

On the 652 flop, Weiss checked to Boitcov, who bet 7,000 and Banducci called. Weiss then check-raised to 35,000, and both opponents called.

Weiss led for a healthy size of 115,000 on the 8 turn, sending Boitcov into the tank for a while before he folded, and Banducci called quickly.

On the 9 turn, Weiss slowed down with a check before Banducci bet 205,000, and Weiss opted to lay down his hand after a minute's tank, conceding a massive pot to the chipleader without showdown.

From Starting as Chipleader to Starting Over

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Gaspar Fernandez
Gaspar Fernandez

From the big blind, Day 2abc chipleader Gaspar Fernandez tossed a bet of 45,000 on the completed board of 96246. Shane Carreja quickly looked him up with a call.

Fernandez tabled Q6 for trip sixes, but it was no good as Carreja had turned a straight with 53 to take the pot.

Fernandez was left with exactly a starting stack, still worth 20 big blinds at this point in the Main Event.

Moryousef Knocks Out Mizrachi and Ulhaq

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Paul Mizrachi
Paul Mizrachi

Three players vaulted out of their seats with Usman Ulhaq and Paul Mizrachi up against Ludovic Moryousef, with the latter two holding near-identical stack sizes right in front of the feature table area.

Usman Ulhaq: 22 All in
Paul Mizrachi: AK All in
Ludovic Moryousef: QQ

Mizrachi predicted the deuce to come for Ulhaq, which it did on the 7332 turn. However, there was another twist to the story as the river brought the Q to propel Moryousef back into the lead.

"Most overrated hand in poker," James Kohl mentioned while the chips were being counted.

"Please tell me I still have chips," Mizrachi said, but that wasn't the case as his 229,000 was covered by Moryousef's 241,000.

Mizrachi left the table with a smile on his face despite his elimination and even took a selfie with Moryousef before they parted ways.

"That is a gentleman right there. His dad is the same," Kohl added after he had shaken the hand of Mizrachi on the way out.

Hellmuth a Somewhat Gracious Loser; Hellmuth III Departs

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Richard Mullen opened to 6,000 from middle position before Phil Hellmuth three-bet to 26,000 in the cutoff, and Mullen called.

On the 753 flop, Mullen checked and Hellmuth immediately checked behind.

Mullen led for 18,000 on the 2 turn and Hellmuth called quickly.

The river brought the 2 as Mullen put out a bet of 44,000. This street, Hellmuth took some time before he cut out calling chips and tossed them into the middle. Mullen tabled 99 for the winner.

"Wow!" a stunned Hellmuth reacted, "Great bet."

"I still wanna play with you every day, but you won the max."

"The Poker Brat" continued to switch between insults and compliments for the next few minutes.

"He overplays so many hands, but he got the max this time," he continued, "Not many people in this tournament would get that much."

Hellmuth then muttered various expletives under his breath for a while before he flipped the switch again, "This is one of those where you just have to give a compliment."

Two hands later, it seemed that Hellmuth had finally moved on from his stay at the Value Town, courtesy of Mullen.

At another table in the same room, his son Phil Hellmuth III was eliminated, ending the Main Event dream for him and his investors.

Two Boats Collide on the River

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joe Hindry
Joe Hindry

As retold by a player at the table, the action had checked to Jarod Ludemann in the small blind, who limped in. Joe Hindry checked his option in the big blind.

The J42 flop saw Ludemann start with a check, and Hindry bet 7,500. Ludemann then check-raised to 19,000, which Hindry called before the 2 turn checked through.

The J river saw fireworks, as Ludemann bet 75,000, and Hindry responded by moving all in for 236,000. Ludemann made the call before it was revealed that he had been victim to a Main Event cooler.

Ludemann tabled his J2 for a full house, but was behind to the J4 of Hindry, who had rivered a better boat.

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

After some preflop raising, there was 35,000 in the pot, and it was heads-up to the flop of 9710.

Truong Nguyen checked from the small blind to Ren Lin in late position, who fired out 15,000. Nguyen thought for a while and moved all in for his last 51,000. Lin snap-called.

Truong Nguyen: QJ All in
Ren Lin: K10

Lin was ahead but not by much, and Nguyen had a bunch of outs to stay alive. The J peeled off on the turn and gave Nguyen a higher pair. The A on the river changed nothing, and Nguyen was shipped the pot for a double-up.

Big Double for Hutter

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Barry Hutter
Barry Hutter

The cards of Corey Wick were already in the muck and he had to pay off a double worth 174,500 to Barry Hutter on the other side of the table, who still had his AA exposed on a board of K82K3.

According to Hutter, they got it in preflop with Wick holding pocket queens including the Q to pick up a flush draw that eventually bricked.

One hand after the disastrous setback, Wick jammed the remainder of his short stack and picked up the blinds.
