Ugarte Falls to Peters with Aces Full

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Eduardo Ugarte peeled his cards under the gun before announcing, "all in," for his remaining 81,000. Action folded to David Peters in the cutoff, who thought for some time before doing the same, with 141,000 in his stack. The rest of the table folded, and Peters found himself up against it.

Eduardo Ugarte: AA All in
David Peters: QQ

The one thing Ugarte didn't want to see was a lady, but the window card was exactly that, bringing a reaction from the table. As if that wasn't horrifying enough for him, the full Q9Q flop gave Peters quads, effectively crushing Ugarte's Main Event dreams.

The turn 3 sealed the deal, as a player at the table called, "Queen!" which was the only way in which Ugarte could stay alive. Unfortunately for the Spaniard, not only was the deck in working order, it was also a needler, as the A was placed down, garnering further reactions from the table.

The runout saw Ugarte head home with nothing but a brutal bad beat story.

Fast Runs Out of Gas

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Dietrich Fast
Dietrich Fast

Dietrich Fast checked from the big blind on the 10K5 flop and Duane Blanchard fired 9,000 from under the gun. Fast called.

Fast check-called another bet from Blanchard on the K turn, this time for 20,000.

The 3 completed the board, and Fast led out for a tiny 8,000. Blanchard peered over at Fast's remaining stack, which totaled around 35,000, before slowly raising to 21,000. Fast made the call.

Blanchard tabled AK for trip kings with an ace kicker to take down the pot, while Fast showed the K for trips himself, leaving him very short-stacked.

A few hands later, Fast was seen leaving the Paris Ballroom as he had been eliminated.

Rossitto Runs into Quads

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Michael Rossitto
Michael Rossitto

Players were already heads up and on the J7JJ turn with a pot of around 100,000. Michael Rossitto was on the button and bet 60,000 and action was on Masayuki Murata in middle position.

Murata called, and the players saw a 6 river. Murata bet 61,000 and Rossitto moved all in to cover Murata's remaining 138,000 stack. Murata snap-called, and the pair tabled their cards.

Masayuki Murata: QJAll in
Michael Rossitto: QQ

Murata was sitting with quad jacks and got paid by Rossitto who had turned the boat.

Big Blind Special for Foxen

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

It was a battle of the blinds between Pedro Neves in the small blind and Alex Foxen in the big blind.

This hand was picked up on a board that read 748 with over 25,000 already in the middle.

The action checked through on the flop, and the 8 turn to bring the 10 river.

Neves led out for 28,000, but Foxen wanted to play for more as he re-raised to 100,000 even.

Neves took a moment to think it over before he slid out some chips for a call.

Foxen showed 82 for trip eights as Neves mucked his hand.

Big Bluff by Riera

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Miguel Riera
Miguel Riera

Miguel Riera raised to 8,000 from the hijack and Dan Wagner three-bet to 38,000 from the small blind. Riera elected to call.

Wagner gathered together a bet of 31,000 on the 3710 flop, and Riera came along with a call.

The 9 turn saw Wagner fire a second barrel of 68,000. Riera gave it plenty of thought before calling once again.

When the 2 completed the board, Wagner checked. Riera slid out a tower of chips, putting Wagner to the test for his remaining 150,000.

Wagner, visibly distressed by the spot he was in and trying to piece together the story Riera was telling, deliberated for around two minutes before finally releasing his hand.

As soon as Wagner's cards hit the muck, Riera slammed down 65 for a busted straight draw and total airball with six-high, before beginning to stack his newly acquired chips.

"I Felt Lucky"

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Aleksandr Shevliakov
Aleksandr Shevliakov

Aleksandr Shevlyakov opened under the gun, and Victor Masanes Arauz called two spots over. In the big blind, Andrew Dickinson squeezed to 30,000. Shevliakov then four-bet to 70,000. After flattening the initial raise, Arauz pushed his 87,000 stack into the middle. Dickinson painfully folded before Shevliakov tossed in the few extra chips.

Victor Masanes Arauz: 87 All in
Aleksandr Shevlyakov: AA

Arauz put his Main Event tournament life on the line with the suited connector facing a four-bet for his last 22 blinds. However, he found some life on the K74 flop with a pair.

The K turn counterfeited his two pair outs, and only a seven could save him now. He couldn't find one on the Q river as he stood up from his chair with a smile on his face.

"I felt lucky," were the only words spoken by Arauz as he took his leave from the tournament.

Williams Chipping Up

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Aubrey Williams
Aubrey Williams

With 62,000 in the pot, Brian Wardrup and Aubrey Williams both checked the 694 flop. Wardrup then bet 12,000 on the 5 turn in early position, and Williams called in the cutoff.

The Q river made Wardrup check again. Williams tossed in a bet of 56,000, to which Wardrup folded after some thought.

"I got there," Williams admitted as she tabled AQ. Wardrup just shook his head as he saw the chips being shipped to Williams.

Kassouf Flips to a Double

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Will Kassouf
Will Kassouf

Chao Wu opened second-to-act before Will Kassouf put his final 26,000 into the middle from the small blind, and Wu called.

Will Kassouf: 66 All in
Chao Wu: AJ

The flop rolled out KQ4 as Wu picked up a gutter to go along with his overs.

"Always a sweat," Kassouf commented as the 7 came on the turn.

The sweat was real, but the 8 river left Kassouf's sixes best, and he secured the full double, back to exactly starting stack.

"Six bigs and a dream," he said as he stacked up the newfound chips.

Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson

Dan Stavila made it 9,000 to play from early position, only for Todd Brunson, sat in middle position, to three-bet to 27,000. Action folded to Philip Sandlin in the big blind who four-bet all in.

Stavila folded quickly and Brunson made the call for his tournament life.

Todd Brunson: KK All in
Philip Sandlin: AA

Just what Brunson ordered came on the 2K7 flop and he soared into the lead. No ace for Sandlin on the 9 turn nor the 10 river and Brunson was shipped the pot for a double-up and more.
