Thibodeau Finishes Liu Off

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Xingyu Liu
Xingyu Liu

Not long after Jacob Thibodeau doubled through Xingyu Liu by cracking aces, they were heads-up on a flop of 4J2.

Thibodeau checked to Liu, who bet 225,000. Thibodeau then check-raised to 600,000 and Liu called.

Both players checked on the J turn, but Thibodeau announced he was all-in after the 3 completed the board.

Liu re-checked his cards and committed his last 1,800,000 into the middle. Thibodeau turned over 65 for a rivered straight and Liu showed he held QJ for trip jacks to be eliminated.

"Unlucky," Liu said as he exited the tournament area.

Thibodeau Doubles as Liu's Bad Day Continues

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Jacob Thibodeau
Jacob Thibodeau

Xingyu Liu opened to 205,000 from early position and Jacob Thibodeau shoved for 1,750,000 total from the hijack. Action folded back to Liu, who quickly put in a single chip to indicate a call to put Thibodeau at risk.

Jacob Thibodeau: KQAll in
Xingyu Liu: AA

Liu had Thibodeau crushed with aces, but the 5K6 flop gave Liu a sweat against Thibodeau's pair of kings.

The K turn vaulted Thibodeau into the lead with trips, and the Q river needlessly improved him further to a full house.

"Let's fu**ing go! C'mon now!" Thibodeau said as he shot up from his seat.

Liu, who started the day third in chips with 9,025,000, is now down to just 2,450,000.

Wilson Given(s) a Double-Up

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Brock Wilson
Brock Wilson

Will Givens raised to 350,000 from the small blind. Brock Wilson called from the big blind.

Givens fired a continuation-bet of 400,000 on the 2J3 flop, and Wilson called.

After the 2 landed on the turn, Givens carved out a second barrel of 720,000. Wilson took a little more time before deciding to call.

The A completed the board, and Givens jammed, covering Wilson. With 1,800,000 behind, Wilson leaned back in his chair, ran a hand through his hair, then slammed in the call, all within about ten seconds.

Brock Wilson: A5All in
Will Givens: 108

It was music to Wilson's ears when Givens instantly said, "nice call," as he tabled a bluff. Wilson revealed a pair of aces to earn the double-up.

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Bahar Musa
Bahar Musa

Wesley Fei opened to 200,000 from under the gun and action folded to Bahar Musa, who three-bet to 850,000 from the cutoff, leaving himself just 25,000 behind. Carlos Chadha Villamarin announced he was all-in from the small blind, which got a quick fold from Fei and a call from Musa.

Bahar Musa: 77All in
Carlos Chadha Villamarin: QQ

The 4102 flop had Musa one step out the door, but the 7 turn got a collective, "Ooooh!" from everyone at the table as it had improved Musa a set of sevens.

The 6 filled out the board and Musa scored a fortunate double-up to keep his Main Event run alive.

There's Something About Perry

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Ralph Perry
Ralph Perry

Ralph Perry has not been happy with short stack Farid Jattin, accusing him of unnecessarily tanking and being quick to call the clock.

"He's taking five minutes every hand," Perry said, though others at the table disputed that he had taken that long.

Perry raised to 200,000 in early position and action folded to Jattin a few seats over. He shuffled his remaining chips for about a minute before Perry called the clock.

"Buddy, why are you in such a bad mood? You're playing fantastic, you have all these chips," Jattin said before folding.

"I don't know why the rest of you are okay with this," Perry grumbled.

Tianle Wang then called in the big blind and, ironically, ended up playing a five-minute hand against the anti-tanker.

Wang checked on the flop of 342 and Perry continued for 150,000. Wang check-raised to 425,000 and Perry called. Wang then sized up to 750,000 on the A turn and Perry called.

Wang bet 750,000 again on the A river and Perry took his time before raising to 3,000,000. Wang laid it down. Jattin stayed silent after the hand, but Benjamin Morgan stood up for him.

"Now you can be happy," said Morgan.

Fei Needs First Place to Break Even

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

With one spot to go before a pay jump, Wesley Fei took his time to act preflop. "You're too rich for that," Zhao Liu said.

"That's why he's rich," Patrick Leonard added.

The tournament clock then clicked down to 98 players, guaranteeing everyone an additional $10,000, as the table began celebrating. Fei then raised to 200,000 in middle position, and Lauri Saaskilahti called in the hijack.

Both players checked the A108 flop. Fei then bet 225,000 on the 10 turn, and Saaskilahti called.

The river was the 5 and Fei bet another 950,000. Saaskilahti again called, and Fei showed K10 for trips to win the pot.

"If I win the $10 million first place, I'll be even on my poker career," Fei told his tablemates.

"You're only down that little? I thought it was a lot more," Liu countered.

Kyle Mart
Kyle Mart

Hendrik Terner raised to 225,000 in middle position. Kyle Mart three-bet to 600,000 on the button, and Junjie Tang placed a small four-bet from the small blind after a while in the tank.

Terner also got out of the way, but Mart committed his stack of 3,000,000 to the middle. Tang snapped him off to put Mart at risk.

Kyle Mart: AK All in
Junjie Tang: AA

"I folded queens," Terner immediately said.

"Why?" he lamented once the 63Q flop was dealt, which would have given him top set. Meanwhile, Mart could not perform a miracle on the 710 runout, and he said his goodbyes as he departed the Main Event.

Almada was racing for his tournament life but remained behind on the 542J board. The river, though, was the A to give Almada top pair and the double-up.

"Poker is crazy. One card, either he's out or has 3.5 million," tablemate Greg Mueller said.
