Kaviani's Top Pair Takes it Down

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Alexander Kaviani opened to 1,600,000 and got a 2,700,000 three-bet from Sung Choi in hijack. Kaviani thought for a few seconds before making the call to see the flop.

The flop dropped A38. Kaviani check-called Choi's continuation bet of 1,600,000 to see the next street.

The 4 turn was peeled and the same dynamic happened. After a check, Choi fired 4,400,000, which Kaviani called. Action slowed down on the 3 river when both players checked.

Kaviani showed A5, prompting Choi to muck his hand.

All the big bounties have been pulled, with just three $5,000 left on offer. With less incentive to go for knockouts, players are more locked into making it to the final table.

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Huy Nguyen opened the action with a raise to 1,200,000 from middle position. Christopher Cawlfield, directly to his left, put in the call, and Mike Leah did the same from the big blind.

The flop, turn, and river all checked through, with the board reading KJQ510. Cawlfield showed 66 but it was no good against the Broadway of Nguyen, who tabled AQ. Leah mucked his cards.

Attempted Bluff Picked Off

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Jalil Houssain raised on the button to 1,500,000, Caroline Schallock called in the small blind and Sonny Pomroy called in the big blind.

Pomroy decided to lead for 1,700,000 when the flop came 848, Houssain called and Schallock folded.

Both players checked on the 9 turn, Pomroy checked on the 10 river, so Houssain fired out a bet for 800,000, which Pomroy quickly called.

Interrante Has Kicker Problems

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Nicholas Lackman jammed from early position for 8,000,000 and Paul Interrante called from the big blind.

Nicholas Lackman: AK All in
Paul Interrante: A10

Lackman had big slick and was in the perfect shape to double up to a workable stack.

Both players hit a pair of aces on the A227Q runout, but it was Lackman's king-kicker that earned him the pot.

Saved by the Straight

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Joseph Trezzo opened to 1,300,000 from early position, before Erwan Pirotais three-bet to 4,000,000 from the small blind. Trezzo wasted no time in shoving, and Pirotais reluctantly called.

Joseph Trezzo: AA All in
Erwan Pirotais: AQ

Pirotais called out for a club on the 1068 flop, but was left drawing to a chop on the 7 turn. He saw the miracle 9 on the river, giving both players a straight to the ten.
