John Monnette: 9x6x5x4x

From under the gun, Daniel Weinman jammed for 48,000. David Lin called in the cutoff and Ryan Hoenig called out of the big blind.

Hoenig and Lin drew one each and Weinman drew two.

Hoenig checked and Lin bet 35,000. Hoenig raised to 123,000, and after a long tank, Lin called.

Hoenig announced a king, and Lin tabled 9x8x6x3x2x for a 9-8 to win at least the side pot. Weinman was already out of his seat as he turned over Kx9x9x4x3x.

Hellmuth Breaks a Ten, Jack is Still Good

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 24,000 ante

Phil Hellmuth raised to 45,000 under the gun and Naoya Kihara three-bet to 135,000 on the button. Hellmuth called and drew one, while Kihara stood pat.

Hellmuth checked to Kihara, who quickly checked back. "I broke a ten," Hellmuth said as he turned over Jx8x7x6x2x. Kihara mucked.

"You've been three-betting us with jacks the whole time?" Hellmuth said.

"Not us. Just you, Phil," Shaun Deeb added.

The next hand at this table, four players went to the draw where Deeb bet 100,000 from the hijack. Hellmuth called in the cutoff, as did Dan Shak on the button.

"My first pat eight," Deeb said as he turned over 8x5x4x3x2x. Both Hellmuth and Shak mucked.

Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin moved all in for 134,000 in the hijack, Daniel Weinman reshoved in the small blind, and the rest of the table folded.

Weinman stood pat. "I think you can beat a ten. Nine-seven is good if I hit a deuce," Lin said as he discarded a 10x.

"I think you're going to be disappointed," tablemate Alex Foxen said to Lin, and Weinman showed him 10x9x8x5x3x. Lin had broken the best hand with 9x7x6x3x, but he fulfilled his prediction by catching a 2x with his last card to double up.
