Destephen Doubles Through Rodriguez

James Rodriguez open jammed from the cutoff for his remaining 1,700,000 and was called my Michael Destephen in the big blind who had just 1,175,000 behind.

Rodriguez picked up on the Q77 flop, but Destephen turned an ace, giving him a better two pair after the dealer placed the A.

A K river didn't change the outcome and Destephen remained in the tournament, leaving Rodriguez sitting on just under three big blind.

Sia Scores With Trips

Brett Kennedy raised to 300,000 from the cutoff, and Joseph Sia called from the button. The flop came out with J89, and Kennedy led out for 300,000. Sia made the call.

Both players checked the turn 6.

On the river J, Kennedy shot out another 700,000, and Sia called.

Kennedy turned over K10, and Sia flipped over J10 for the trip jacks and the win.

Carmona Flops the Broadway

Arash Sarraf opened to 300,000 from under the gun and Luis Yepez Carmona was the only caller from middle position.

The J10K was check-called by Sarraf after Carmona bet out 300,000.

A 4 turn prompted Sarraf to check again, Carmona took some time before moving out 650,000 and Sarraf paid to see the 3 river.

Sarraf checked, Carmona paused before asking for 850,000, and it didn't take too long for Sarraf to call. Camona tabled his AQ and took the pot having flopped the broadway straight after Sarraf mucked his hand.

Aaron Gao opened from under the gun and got his stack in against Benjamin Kniaz after Kniaz shoved from early position. Gao was at risk.

Gao ran into a big hand as Kniaz had the goods with pocket aces.

The flop did not alter the standings as it came 3J8.

The five never came on the 4 turn and the Q river to bust Gao from the tournament.

Paeper Tens Kicks Shulman Out

From middle position, Tj Shulman opened to 450,000, leaving behind around 50,000 with him. Kurt Paeper, in cutoff, shoved all-in for 550,000 in response, pushing the remaining players out of the hand.

When action went back to him, Shulman put in his remaining chips and asked, "What am I looking at here?" before tabling his hand.

Paeper was ahead but the J23 flop gave Shulman some hope for an upset. The dealer completed the board with a 9 turn and the 4 river, with no help to Shulman at all. Shulman left the table as Paeper scooped the pot.

Simon Britton came along from the big blind to create a three-handed pot.

It cheked to Malikov on the Q94 flop. Malikov gave it some thought before he put out a bet of 700,000. Goth Dietz and Britton folded to yield the pot to Malikov.

Action folded to Joseph Buonomo in the small blind,, who moved all in and had Tianyu Zheng sat in the big blind easily covered. Zheng squeezed his cards and snap-called for his tournament life.

No dramas for Zheng on the 9910 flop and when the 2 peeled off on the turn he just needed to dodge an ace to stay alive.

'Hold', he requested from the dealer who didn't hear and duly rolled off the A on the river to send Zheng to the rail.
