2026 World Series of Poker
Action was heads-up to the 6♠Q♥6♣10♠A♠ river, where Adrian Mateos led out with a bet of 60,000 from the small blind.
Leon Sturm went into the tank in the big blind, eventually opting to make the call.
Mateos tabled 10♣10♦ for a full house, taking down an early pot as Sturm mucked.
Thomas Boivin made it 65,000 from the hijack and Nick Petrangelo three-bet the button to 205,000. When it got back to Boivin, he four-bet to 480,000, and Petrangelo responded by five-bet jamming for 1,540,000. Boivin put in the call.
Nick Petrangelo: A♣K♣
Thomas Boivin: Q♣Q♦
It was a massive flip for more than double the starting stack, and Petrangelo came out on top after the board ran out A♠J♦K♥2♥5♥ to give him two pair.
Petrangelo got off to a dream start on Day 2, while Boivin's start was more of a nightmare as he was left with around 300,000.
