Ward Shoves the Flop

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Michael Gathy opened to 20,000 in early position, and Andrew Hoechstetter made the call in the small blind. Joseph Ward came along in the big blind, and the J36 flop was fanned out.

Hoechstetter and Ward checked to Gathy, who continued for 20,000. Hoechstetter folded before Ward announced all in. That produced a fast fold from Gathy, and Ward raked in the pot.

Voyer Leaves Youn on Fumes

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Heads up to the flop of 457 with 150,000 sat in the pot.

Jeanluc Voyer checked from middle position to Youngchae Youn, in late position, who fired out a bet of 42,000. Voyer went into the tank for a while before he moved all in for 315,000. This sent Youn into the tank for a similar time before he made the call to put Voyer at risk.

Jeanluc Voyer: QQ All in
Youngchae Youn: JJ

No help for Youn on the 4 turn nor the 2 river and Voyer was shipped the pot for a double up whilst Youn was left with a bowl of rice and less than ten big blinds.

Big Slick for Palmer

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Huihan Wu raised to 20,000 in middle position, and Jordan Bamford three-bet to 48,000 as next to act. Alden Palmer then moved all in from the cutoff, and Wu got out of the way.

Bamford slid in the call, leaving Palmer at risk.

Alden Palmer: AK All in
Jordan Bamford: JJ

Palmer won the flop by hitting the KQ1036 runout, doubling his stack through Bamford.

Puri Approaching Seven Figures

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Shawn Puri and Thomas Cazayous were heads-up on a completed board of 108108K with about 200,000 already in the middle.

Cazayous checked from middle position and Puri fired 190,000 into the middle from the hijack — sending Cazayous into the tank.

Cazayous eventually decided to lay his hand down and Puri offered to show his hand before sending it into the muck.

"It's not that interesting," Puri said as he collected the pot.

Interesting or not, the Day 1 chip leader has maintained a strong position and remains near the top of the counts with a stack nearing one million.
