Engel Hangs On For a Knockout

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ari Engel bet 21,000 from the button on a flop of J105 before Yuan Li moved all in for 107,000 in the small blind. Engel took out his camera and began filming as he called to put Li at risk.

Engel had flopped top two pair, while Li was on a straight draw. Li also picked up a flush draw on the 7 turn, but he missed the 4 river and Engel secured the knockout.

Wantman Doubles Through Bleznick

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jared Bleznick opened from the cutoff and called a three-bet from Matthew Wantman in the small blind.

"No ace," Bleznick said before the dealer put out the Q63 flop. Wantman moved all in for his remaining 9,000 and Bleznick quickly announced a call to put Wantman at risk.

Wantman was ahead with his kings, but needed to fade plenty of outs against Bleznick's pair of queens and straight draw.

The J10 runout came clean for Wantman and he was awarded the double up.

Ewing Applies Pressure

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Christopher Ewing limped in on the button and called when Ioannis Angelou Konstas raised to 10,500 in the big blind.

Konstas continued for 6,500 on the 556 flop, which Ewing called.

The 3 turn joined the board, and Konstas fired out again, putting 13,000 into the pot. This time, Ewing responded with a raise to 40,000. After mulling it over, Konstas opted to let his hand go, returning his cards to the dealer.

Aronson on Right Side of a Cooler to Bust Kemper

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Drake Kemper raised to 10,000 in the hijack and Gus Hansen called in the cutoff. Cary Aronson then three-bet to 44,500 on the button, and only Kemper called.

The flop came AK8 and Aronson potted to 106,500. Kemper then moved all in, and Aronson snap-called.

Kemper showed a set of kings, but Aronson had him crushed with his set of aces. The board ran out 52, and Aronson secured the big pot.

It took several minutes to count down the stacks, and Aronson barely had Kemper's remaining 196,000 covered to send him to the rail.

Tavares Takes From Luo

Heads-up on a flop of A104 with a bit under 30,000 already in the middle, Bernardo Tavares bet 7,500 from the hijack and Xixiang Luo called in the cutoff.

Tavares then check-called a bet of 13,500 from Luo on the 2 turn before both players checked down on the 7 river.

Tavares tabled AQJ6 for a pair of aces and Luo sent his cards into the muck.

Bad Start for Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth recently took his seat, but is already down to just 12,000 from his starting stack of 60,000.

In one hand on a completed board of K82QA, Hellmuth was heads-up against Dash Dudley and bet 9,000 from the small blind. Dudley raised to 27,000 from the big blind and Hellmuth called.

Dudley revealed J7J9 for a jack-high flush and Hellmuth showed he held a lower flush before sending his cards into the muck.

Shortly afterward, Hellmuth was heads-up against Sam Soverel and faced with a 31,500 bet from Soverel on a completed board of 48925.

Hellmuth called and Soverel showed KJ76 for a straight. Hellmuth declared he held two pair and mucked.

Hansen Coolers Voor For a Double

Gus Hansen bet 8,000 from the hijack on a flop of JA5 and Andrew Voor called in the small blind.

The turn was the 9 and Hansen bet 24,000. Voor then announced pot, Hansen moved all in for 140,000, and Voor quickly called.

Voor showed JJ72 for a set, but Hansen had top set with AAQ10. The river was the 3 and Hansen doubled up.
