2026 World Series of Poker
Joao Ribeiro moved all in with 580,000 chips from the hijack. Jonathan Fader called from the small blind.
Joao Ribeiro: A♥10♠
Jonathan Fader: A♦Q♣
Ribeiro was in trouble, and the flop of J♦A♠4♠ didn't help much, as he had kicker issues with his pair of aces. But there were cards to come.
The running spades 3♠Q♠ on the turn and river brought Ribeiro the flush he needed to stay alive.
Daxesh Patel open-shoved for 1,190,000 and Sanjeev Kapoor in the small blind called taking them to showdown.
Daxesh Patel: Q♣10♣
Sanjeev Kapoor: K♣K♦
Kapoor maintained his lead when the flop came A♦5♣7♣. The dealer continued with a 4♥ turn and an A♥ river. Kapoor's king sheld eliminating Patel from the tournament.
Wooyang Lin opened from middle position and Julian Pineda Lozano raised to 350,000 on the button. Michael Wagner moved all in for his last 1,780,000 from the big blind and Lin re-jammed for his covering stack. Lozano folded, leaving the players to go heads up to showdown.
Michael Wagner: Q♦Q♥
Wooyang Lin: A♥K♥
Wagner was looking to hold with pocket queens and the 7♣4♠3♣ flop kept him ahead.
Things all changed on the A♠ turn and Lin stood from the table and let out a "Yessss!".
There was no turning back for Wagner 9♣ river, and he was eliminated from the tournament in 314th place, taking home a $5,250 payout.
Mathew Frankland raised to 400,000 from the early position, leaving a single 5,000-chip behind. When the action folded to Carlos Da Rocha in the big blind, he set Frankland all in, and Frankland called.
Mathew Frankland: K♣Q♣
Carlos Da Rocha: Q♠4♦
Everything looked good for Frankland up to the 2♥J♠7♦10♦ turn, but the 4♣ river spelt disaster, as Da Rocha found a three-outer to remove Frankland.
Claudio Muller was all in from the cutoff for his remaining 975,000 and covered by Rajagopal Sankaranarayanan on the button.
Claudio Muller: A♥5♣
Rajagopal Sankaranarayanan: A♣6♣
Muller was at risk and behind when the cards were flipped and the 3♥K♣9♥ flop didn't change anything.
A 5♠ turn saw Muller hit a pair of fives which was enough to secure him the pot after the 3♠ river fell.
The hand was picked up with Jose Mariema moving all in on the turn of a 5♥3♥10♦Q♦ board.
Shawn Motameni, in middle position, was pondering the call of Mariema's 1,615,000 stack into a pot with more than 4,000,000 chips in it. After a bit, he made the call.
Jose Mariema: K♠K♥
Shawn Motameni: J♥10♥
Mariema's kings were ahead, but Motameni had a pair of tens and a flush draw. The 5♣ bricked the river, to give the massive pot to Mariema.
Ramiro Montenegro open-shoved on the button for 990,000. Liviu-Rodrig Bartha in the small blind called taking them to showdown.
Ramiro Montenegro: Q♥J♠
Liviu-Rodrig Bartha: A♣8♣
The board ran 7♦4♦3♥10♣6♣ and with no one hitting the board, Bartha's ace-high took the pot down.
The action was joined as Lisa Schuessler was all in from the small blind, and at risk versus Carlos Caldas in the cutoff.
Lisa Schuessler: J♠J♣
Carlos Caldas: A♠Q♠
The 3♥Q♦2♠4♣8♦ board favoured Caldas, bringing to an end Schuessler's deep run.
