Mellon Makes It Over A Milllion

Jason Koon limped from early position and Chris Frank called on the button. Ian Matakis called from the small blind and Phillipp Mellon raised to 15,000. Koon and Frank called, with Matakis mucking his hand, taking the players three-way to the J♥10♣8♥ flop.

Action checked around to the Q♣ turn and Mellon bet pot for 51,000. Koon was the only caller and the 9♠ completed the board.

Mellon bet 82,000 and Koon mucked, Mellon ended the hand on over one million in chips.

The flop came 6♥10♦2♦ before Parssinen checked. Matakis continued for 25,000. He was called by both Mellon and Parssinen.

Parssinen and Matakis checked the 6♠ turn before Mellon wagered 125,000. Parssinen and Matakis both folded as Mellon took down a healthy pot.

Cowen wanted to play for more, and four-bet to 119,000 in response. Foxen called.

The flop was all eights as it came 8♥8♠8♦. Cowen sized down with a wager of 28,000. Foxen yielded the pot to Cowen with a fold.

Frank bet 16,000 and only Koon called. The 4♠ river saw Frank check-call a 40,000 bet by Koon.

The 8♣ completed the board, and Frank checked. Koon used a time bank card before checking back, and Frank said, "I have nines," before showing his A♥9♥9♠5♠. Koon tabled his A♦Q♣10♠3♣ for two pair, which was enough to take the pot and regain some chips.

The K♣6♦9♦ flop saw action check to Parssinen, who bet 8,000 and only Foxen called.

A 5♥ turn prompted Foxen to bet 14,000, and Parssinen called behind, taking them to the 2♣ river.

Foxen checked, Parssinen paused and used a time bank before moving out 25,000, and Foxen made the call. Foxen tabled his A♦10♥5♦5♣ for the set of fives to take the pot after Parssinen showed his kings-up with K♥J♦8♥6♥.

The flop came 4♠Q♦J♥ before Koon checked. Foxen continued for 19,000 and was called by both Mellon and Koon.

The 3♦ turn led to a pair of checks from Koon and Foxen. Mellon took the initiative with a bet of 56,000, which was called by both Koon and Foxen.

It checked over to Mellon on the 5♦ river. Mellon fired again, this time for 125,000. Koon tapped out with a fold, but Foxen made the call to go to a showdown.

Mellon rolled over A♦Q♣J♦5♥ for a flush as Foxen mucked his hand in response.

Pugh-Jones checked the 3♣8♠Q♥ flop before Koon bet 14,000. Pugh-Jones hung around with a call.

The 9♣ turn led to another check from Pugh-Jones before Koon bet 45,000. Pugh-Jones called the turn bet to bring the 4♠ river before he checked once again.

The river did not deter Koon, who fired a third barrel for 120,000. Pugh-Jones flicked in the call and was shown the bad news when Koon tabled Q♠J♥10♠10♦ for a straight to scoop up a healthy pot.
