Vinson Gets Desperate

Ben Vinson has been having a terrible day and just now managed to get his whole stack in with {A-Hearts} {2-Hearts}, technically dominated by Richard Kellett's {A-?} {3-?} -- but five overcards to the three came on the board, and they chopped it up.

Thor Hammers Kelly

Blind on blind, the fantastically monikered Thor Drexel bet out from on the {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} flop and big blind JP Kelly flat-called.

Deterred, Drexel checked the {4-Clubs} turn and the {4-Spades} river, and both times Kelly checked behind. Drexel turned over {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}, and presumably it was good as Kelly just mucked.

Drexel up to 38,000.

Doc Finds Unusual Medicine

Exactly how this came to pass is a complete mystery, but we arrived at the last table left on the mezzanine to find David Docherty doubling through Andy Johnson. We don't know what Johnson was holding, but the board read {9-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}, and Docherty's triumphant double-up hand was the rather esoteric {3-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}.

He's up to around 15,000 now.
