Peters Collects Another Stack, Continuing Strong First Level

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters came into the day with 94,200, and while he likely hoped for a good start on Day 2, he probably didn't imagine Level 7 would go this well for him.

A little after busting a player who wouldn't fold two jacks against his set, we found Peters in another huge pot. He had bet 23,000 out of the small blind and a player in Seat 8 who replaced the last player Peters busted shoved all in for about 86,000. The board read {4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Peters needed a few minutes to think this one over. Finally, he flicked in a chip to call.

Peters' opponent turned over {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and headed for the exit when Peters showed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}.

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ole Schemion raised to 1,600 from mid-position and was called by the player in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs} on which they both checked. The turn brought them the {2-Diamonds}. Schemion called the 2,200 bet of his opponent.

The river completed the board with the {10-Spades}, now Schemion's opponent check-folded to the 5,300 bet of Schemion.

Lakemeier Drops Three-Bet Pot

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Jens Lakemeier opened to 2,000 in middle position and called a three-bet to 6,000 from Michael Bailey, who had the button. The flop came {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Lakemeier check-called 4,500. He did the same for 8,200 on the {3-Spades} turn. Both checked the {a-Hearts} and Lakemeier couldn't beat the {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} shown down by Bailey.

Ejibia Just Can't Beat Kanit

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Zurab Ejibia opened for 2,500 under the gun and got four callers before Mustapha Kanit made it 16,000 in the big blind. Ejibia shoved for about 47,000 and everyone else folded back to Kanit, who called.

Kanit: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Ejibia: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Ejibia looked to have the flip in hand after the {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop but Kanit turned him dead when the {j-Hearts} hit.

Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

The flop read {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and the pot had about 41,000 in it. Sam Grafton, sitting in the big blind, had checked. David Urban, on the button, decided to check too.

The turn brought them the {6-Spades}, Grafton bet 16,000 and Urban went into the tank. After a while, he decided to shove. Grafton folded immediately.

"I should have known to not mess with you, David!" Grafton said while Urban was raking in the pot.

Stefan Schillhabel was all in from the big blind for 32,300 when we got to his table. The board had come {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and he was facing a bet of 10,500 from Josip Simunic. Schillhabel won the pot with a Simunic fold, and Simunic asked him to show. Schillhabel smiled and obliged: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}.

Kassouf Folds the Turn

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Will Kassouf bet 5,300 from under the gun on a {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop and an opponent on his left made it 15,000. Kassouf eyed him suspiciously before calling and then checking the {3-Diamonds}. This time, the talkative Brit was faced with an all-in shove worth about 46,000 and he folded after about a minute's thought.
