Vogel Gets Turned to the Payout Desk

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Josef Vogel moved all in for 520,000 in early position and Guillaume Marechal re-shoved all in on his left. The rest of the table folded and the two hands were face up.

Josef Vogel: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Guillaume Marechal: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The flop fell {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Marechal picked up some counterfeit outs. The turn brought the {a-Clubs} and Marechal made a pair of aces to leave Vogel drawing to just two outs. The {k-Diamonds} on the river was of no help and Vogel exited the tournament.

Stancu and Calzoni Get Lucky Double Ups

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Vasile Stancu shoved all in for his last 1,115,000 in the hijack and Tal Herzog re-shoved all in on the button. Stancu found himself in trouble with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} against the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of Herzog.

The flop of {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} left Herzog in the lead but the {8-Clubs} on the turn got Stancu out of his seat with a set of eights. The {a-Clubs} completed the board and Stancu doubled up.

At the table next door, Matteo Calzoni opened to 160,000 in early position and Mykhailo Sezonenko three-bet to 400,000 on the button. Calzoni four-bet shoved all in for 2,010,000 and Sezonenko quickly called.

Sezonenko held {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and had Calzoni in trouble with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. However, the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop put Calzoni out front with a pair of aces. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and {2-Hearts} on the river gave Calzoni a huge double up into one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Foged Gives Up on the River

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Pascal Foged raised it up from the hijack and Zlatin Penev defended from the big blind. The flop fell {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Penev check-called a bet of 125,000 from Foged.

The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and Penev checked again. Foged fired out another bet of 350,000 and Penev stuck around to see the {6-Spades} on the river. Penev checked for the third time and Foged thought for a minute before checking it back. Penev showed {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks and Foged was unable to beat it.

Krusch Flops a Set to Eliminate Vornicu

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Cristian Vornicu shoved all in for 535,000 from under the gun. Dennis Krusch asked for a count in middle position and re-shoved all in for around 1,500,000. The rest of the table folded and the cards were tabled.

Cristian Vornicu: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Dennis Krusch: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Krusch held the lead with the superior pair and the flop of {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} put him way in front with a set of tens. The {8-Spades} on the turn gave Vornicu a straight draw but the {j-Hearts} on the river made a full house for Krusch to eliminate Vornicu.
