Karlic Keeps Up Aggressive Style

Level 31 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

First to act, Claudio Di Giacomo pushed all in for 3,400,000 with the A2 and won the blinds as well as big blind ante to claim an urgently needed boost for his severe short stack.

Daniel Pidun then opened to 625,000 with the KQ in the hijack, and Gerald Karlic three-bet to 2,100,000 in the small blind holding the J10. Once it was back on Pidun, he quickly called to see the 754 flop. Karlic slowed down and checked. Pidun checked it back. The 9 followed on the turn, and Karlic bet 2,400,000 with his two overcards and gutshot straight draw. Pidun folded.

The 322 flop gave Karlic the flush draw to go with his two live cards. Nothing changed on the 10 turn, but the 7 on the river spelled the end for Di Giacomo in fifth place, having won his entry by taking down one of the many major tournaments throughout the year at King's Resort.
