Wang Puts Melchers in Blender

Level 6 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Yuhan Wang
Yuhan Wang

A pot of 72,000 had developed by the river on a board of 642K4, in a hand between Dorian Melchers and Yuhan Wang, both in middle position.

Melchers checked, and Wang fired out a bet of 150,000, more than covering Melchers' remaining stack of 52,500.

Melchers went into the tank, taking at least three minutes eyeing the board and his opponent, the focus of his attention appearing to be Wang's neck, trying to get some kind of pulse indication as to whether Wang was bluffing.

Wang didn't move an inch throughout. Eventually, Melchers took a final peek at his cards and folded.

Straight for Cieslik

Level 6 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A pot of 48,000 had brewed, with the flop reading AQ9, in a hand between Peter Cieslik in early position, and Ioannis Angelou Konstas in the cutoff.

Cieslik led out with a bet of 18,000, and Angelou Konstas called.

The J turn was checked to the K river, where Cieslik led out with a bet of 30,500.

After a long period of contemplation, Angelou Konstas called, and smiled wryly, and shook his head and mucked, when Cieslik tabled J10 for the rivered one-card straight.

Last year at King’s Resort, Simone Andrian took down the coveted 2024 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event bracelet and a career-best score of €1,300,000.

Andrian became the 15th player in history to win the WSOPE Main Event, triumphing over a field of 768 entrants. He ultimately defeated Urmo Velvelt in a gripping heads-up duel that lasted over three hours and saw the chip lead change hands multiple times.

“It’s amazing. By far the biggest score of my career. I couldn’t be more happy” he said following his victory. "I’ve been playing here a lot and to have that kind of score here feels special.”
