When it folded around to Michail Manolakis in the small blind, he shoved for around 600,000 and Martin Kabrhel instantly called from the big bind.
Michail Manolakis: A♣7♥
Martin Kabrhel: A♠9♠
Manolakis was in rough shape against Kabrhel's ace-nine, and found no help on the 9♦Q♣4♦ flop as Kabrhel paired his nine. Manolakis was drawing dead after the J♥ turn as the K♣ on the river was just a formality.
Manolakis headed to the exit and Kabrhel's stack grew to around 8,700,000.
Michael Adam committed his last 30,000 from the cutoff with Artem Kobylynskyi limping the button, Dimitrios Gkatzas completing out of the small blind and Max Neugebauer checking his option from the big blind.
With Adam all-in and 60,000 available in the side pot, the other three players checked the 2♠J♣2♦ flop to see the 7♠ appear on the turn. Gkatzas bet 75,000, forcing Neugebauer and Kobylynskyi to fold.
Michael Adam: K♣5♥
Dimitrios Gkatzas: 6♦2♣
Gkatzas had trips and Adam needed to spike a king on the river to survive. A J♥ peeled off on the river, and Adam exited in 26th place.
Cheng Zhao pushed all-in from under the gun for 525,000 and the action folded to Alberto Speranzoni in the big blind. He asked for an exact count and then called after using one time bank extension.
Cheng Zhao: K♥J♥
Alberto Speranzoni: A♣10♠
Neither player connected with the 9♠8♣5♥7♠7♦ board and that sent Zhao to the rail in 25th place.
After losing all but the last 20,000 in chips right before that, Ivan Tikhov used all of his remaining time banks and then folded. Catalin Pop limped the small blind, and Max Neugebauer checked in the big blind. On the 9♣8♣4♦ flop, both checked and Neugebauer bet the 3♠ turn for 120,000 for Pop to check-fold.
Bastian Gallitzendoerfer won the next blinds with a raise to 150,000.
In the very next hand, Marco Di Persio raised to 120,000 first to act and Gallitzendoerfer three-bet to 500,000 in the next seat. It folded all the way to Jan-Willem Nijmeijer in the small blind, and he glanced at his cards, then grabbed all of his time bank extensions that he had left to spread them out.
Nijmeijer had nine of them and chatted with Neugebauer, who jokingly said to leave at least one behind. Nijmeijer ended up using six before he pushed all in for just shy of a million. During the hand, Daniel Pidun in the big blind wanted to leave the seat because his ordered food had arrived, but had to wait for it as the very long hand was still dragging out.
Pidun then folded, as did Di Persio, while Gallitzendoerfer called the shove.
The A♣J♠10♥ flop vaulted Gallitzendoerfer into the lead, and he then further improved to trips with the A♦ turn to leave his opponent drawing to a chop only with any of the four kings in the deck. Nothing changed with the 4♣ river, and Nijmeijer bowed out in 24th place for €35,600 while Tikhov on the same table secured the pay jump to €43,000 with a third of a big blind.
Ivan Tikhov made the pay jump with the bustout of Jan-Willem Nijmeijer and immediately put in his last 20,000 from middle position. Catalin Pop called in the hijack, while Marco Di Persio checked the big blind.
Pop bet 100,000 on the K♠7♠7♥ flop, and Di Persio folded.
Ivan Tikhov: A♦10♦
Catalin Pop: A♣A♥
Pop had woken up with aces and had Tikhov drawing thin going to the turn, which was the K♣. The 7♦ fell on the river and Tikhov was eliminated in 23rd place.
Lulei Hu made it 120,000 from the cutoff and Claudio Di Giacomo shoved from the big blind, covering Hu. Hu made the call for his stack of 1,180,000 and the players went to a showdown.
Lulei Hu: A♣K♠
Claudio Di Giacomo: 5♠5♥
It was a flip with Hu having big slick against the pocket fives of Di Giacomo. The dealer delivered a flop of Q♣5♣2♣ to give Di Giacomo a set of fives, while Hu still held outs to a flush.
Hu took the lead when the 4♣ rolled off on the turn, and he just needed to fade a board-pairing river to double. A 4♦ rolled off on the river and gave Di Giacomo a full house, eliminating Hu.
Hu headed to the rail in 22nd place and Di Giacomo was up to over six million.
Max Neugebauer raised to 120,000 under the gun before Marco Di Persio three-bet to 320,000 in the hijack. Neugebauer then moved all in, and Di Persio called out to his friends on the rail before calling for 1,200,000.
Marco Di Persio: K♥K♣
Max Neugebauer: A♥K♠
Di Persio was ahead with his kings, but Neugebauer found an ace on the A♣6♣8♥ flop to move in front. "Impossibile," Di Persio said in Italian.
He had just one out but couldn't find any miracles on the 2♥ turn or 2♠ river and was eliminated in 21st place.
From under the gun, Szabolcs Kukucska started out with a limp before Jonas Lauck raised it to 240,000 from middle position. When it folded back to Kukucska, he limp-jammed for 1,200,000, and Lauck called.
Szabolcs Kukucska: A♦Q♣
Jonas Lauck: 10♠10♣
Kukucska needed to connect with the board to beat the pocket tens of Lauck and keep his seat in the Main Event.
Lauck's pair stayed ahead through the 9♥3♥8♥ flop and 6♥ turn. Another heart would result in a chop, but the K♠ fell instead, and Kukucska headed to the exit in 20th position.
Martin Kabrhel raised to 160,000 under the gun before Ran Ilani moved all in for 1,520,000 in the cutoff. Teemu Jaatinen called in the big blind, while Kabrhel folded 8♥6♥.
Ran Ilani: 5♠5♥
Teemu Jaatinen: A♠A♥
Ilani had run into Jaatinen's aces, and the A♣K♥4♣ flop gave Jaatinen top set. Ilani picked up some outs on the 3♠ turn, but he missed the J♠ river and was sent to the rail short of making his second straight final table appearance.
