Derkowski Makes Everybody Fold

Level 24 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Grzegorz Derkowski

Four-way in a limped pot on A94, Zdenek Zizka in the hijack bet 120,000, and was called by Renji Mao on the button and Grzegorz Derkowski in the big blind.

All three of them checked the 3 turn leading to the 5 river, where Derkowski led out for 220,000.

Zizka folded, followed by Mao, who clearly didn't want to give his cards to the dealer.

Zdenek Zizka made it 175,000 on the button and Renji Mao called from the big blind.

Mao bet 225,000 on the 497 flop, which was for all of Zizka's stack. ZIzka rechecked his cards and thought for almost a minute, before electing to slide the rest of his chips into the middle and call.

Renji Mao: JJ105

Both players held overpairs, and it was Mao's pair of jacks that were currently in the lead.

The 5 turn gave Zizka some extra outs in the form of a gutshot straight draw. The dealer burned a card and peeled off the case 10 on the river, giving Zizka a set of tens. Mao shook his head in disbelief as he had to send some of his stack over to Zizka.

Mao Applies Pressure on Atac

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Renji Mao limped from under the gun to face the blinds on a flop of 336 that they all checked.

Salih Atac in the big blind led out for 75,000 on the J turn. He was called by Mao, while Zdenek Zizka, in the small blind, check-folded.

The 8 river completed the board, and Atac checked. After using a time bank extension, Mao bet 200,000 and got Atac to fold.

Fahredin Mustafov

After an orbit of raise and takes, Fahredin Mustafov limped the cutoff. Dario Alioto completed from the small blind, and Zdenek Zizka checked his option from the big blind after burning through one of his time banks.

Alioto and Zizka checked the 10210 flop, allowing Mustafov to bet the minimum of 50,000. This was enough to earn Mustafov the pot, as both of his opponents folded.

Mao and Mustafov Split

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Salih Atac opened to 125,000 from the button. Renji Mao in the small blind three-bet to 425,000, then Fahredin Mustafov in the big blind moved all in for 975,000. Atac folded, and Mao snap-called.

Renji Mao: AAK6

Both players almost had the exact same hand, so they split the pot with two pair on 6J5J3.

Alioto Wins a Small Battle of the Blinds

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Grzegorz Derkowski completed from the small blind before Dario Alioto made it 150,000 from the big blind. Derkowski continued with a call.

Two checks followed the 964 flop, and the K appeared on the turn. Derkowski checked for a second time, and Alioto bet 75,000. Derkowski released his cards, and Alioto dragged in the pot.

"This Table Is Unlucky"

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

The six finalists asked to move to the main feature table after dinner break. From his new seat, Dario Alioto limped from the button. Zdenek Zizka in the small blind limped as well, so Salih Atac only had to check his option to discover a flop of 833.

After two checks, Alioto bet 50,000 and was only called by Zizka. They both checked the Q turn and the 5 river, and Zizka won the pot with K1032 (trip treys).

In the next hand, Dario Alioto, in the cutoff, raised to 100,000. Renji Mao defended from the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 1063 and Alioto continued for 65,000. Mao, however, check-raised to 250,000 and made Alioto fold.

“I changed my mind, this table is unlucky,” Alioto joked as Mao was pulling the pot towards him.
