Mao Hits the River Again to Leave Derkowski on Fumes

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Grzegorz Derkowski potted the button to 350,000 and Renji Mao called from the big blind.

Upon seeing the dealer fan out the 2J5 flop, Mao jammed for 740,000. Derkowski snap-called with just a few big blinds more than Mao.

Renji Mao: 6643 All in
Grzegorz Derkowski: QQ108

Derkowski held the overpair against the wrap of Mao. A 9 hit the turn before the A fell on the river to give Mao a straight.

Mao doubled to 2,330,000, while Derkowski was left with just 225,000.

Alioto Snap-Calls With a Boat

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

"Let's make it a three-way all-in," Dario Alioto on the button said after everybody limped to see a flop of A510. Alioto bet 150,000 and he was only called by Renji Mao in the small blind.

Mao led out for 400,000 on the 5 turn and was called, then on the Q river, he raised the bid to 1,500,000.

Alioto snap-called with 10653 for a full house. Mao could only show QJ108 for two pair and lost half of his stack.

Dario Alioto completed from the small blind before Renji Mao made it 300,000 from the big blind. Alioto limp-raised the pot, and Mao called for his stack of 1,120,000.

Dario Alioto: AQ85

The dealer spread out the flop of 22Q, giving both players a pair of queens to go with the pair of deuces on board, but Alioto was out in front with the ace-kicker. A 3 turn meant Mao was one card away from hitting the rail. The dealer put out the 10 to complete the board, and Mao had rivered a better two pair to survive.

Discipline for Mao; Flush Over Straight for Alioto

Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

In a limped pot, Dario Alioto in the small blind and Renji Mao in the big blind checked a flop of 546. Alioto bet 100,000 on the 8 turn and was called, then asked for 100,000 again on the K river.

Mao seemed very tempted to call, but wisely folded.

"Discipline," Alioto said.

In the next hand, Alioto on the button bet 125,000 on a flop of Q10Q but Grzegorz Derkowski in the big blind check-raised to 410,000. Alioto went into the tank and eventually made the call.

Both players checked the K turn, and the 10 river didn't bring more action.

"Straight," Derkowski said while flipping over J976. Alioto revealed AQ72 for a flush and scooped the pot.
