Tsouloftas Pays Off Vaaraniemi

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The clock had already been paused and the rest of the field was wandering around waiting for the three-table redraw while Georgios Tsouloftas and Elias Vaaraniemi continued to tangle in a pot.

Vaaraniemi bet 75,000 from the cutoff on a flop of QA9 and Tsouloftas called in the small blind. Both players checked the Q turn and the 6 fell on the river.

Vaaraniemi then bet 205,000 and Tsouloftas again called. Vaaraniemi showed AJ for two pair and Tsouloftas mucked.

Goeller Busts Salerno in Brutal Fashion

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Andreas Goeller
Andreas Goeller

Andreas Goeller made it 32,000 under the gun before Elia Salerno three-bet the cutoff to 80,000. When it got back to Goeller, he called.

Goeller check-called a bet of 45,000 from Salerno on the A94 flop.

The 2 hit the turn and Goeller check-called a second bet from Salerno, this time for 170,000.

A 3 rolled off on the river and after a few moments, Goeller jammed. Salerno looked back at his cards, then called for his remaining 380,000.

Goeller had backed into a wheel with 52 to win the pot, as Salerno turned over AA for a set of aces.

Salerno bolted up from his chair and began ranting in his native tongue as all of his chips were sent over to Goeller.

Alessandro Pichierri limped in from the small blind, Elias Vaaraniemi raised to 50,000 in the big blind, and Pichierri called.

The flop came A63 and Vaaraniemi bet 30,000. Pichierri called and they both checked the 4 turn.

The next hand, Pichierri three-bet to 70,000 on the button after Georgios Tsouloftas opened in the cutoff. The table debated whether Tsouloftas' shot clock should be extended to 30 seconds and called the floor over before Tsouloftas shoved for 340,000. Pichierri quickly called.

Georgios Tsouloftas: K8 All in
Alessandro Pichierri: AJ

Pichierri hit top pair on the J52 flop, while the Q turn left Tsouloftas a card away from elimination. The river, though, was the K and Tsouloftas jumped from his seat after hitting a pair of kings to earn a double up.
