Leah Calls It Down

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The pot was around 18,500 with the flop showing J9J. Michael Leah, in the big blind, checked to Ting-Yi Tsai on the button, who bet 6,000. Leah responded with a raise to 18,000, and Tsai made the call.

Leah kept up the pressure on the 3 turn with a bet of 27,500, and Tsai called again.

When the 10 hit the river, Leah checked. Tsai took a moment before moving all in. Leah counted his stack and, once done, made the call, sending the hand to showdown. Tsai tabled AQ for ace high with the board pair, while Leah showed K9 for two pair, enough to win the pot.
“Huh, nice call,” Tsai said.

Shaun Deeb opened from the hijack to 6,000 and picked up two callers, Landon Tice on the button and Andy Tsai in the big blind.

All three players checked the 7QK flop.

On the 3 turn, Deeb bet 20,000. Tice folded, but Tsai check-raised all in for 70,500. Deeb snap-called.

Tsai showed K9, while Deeb tabled 54. “Oh, so you have ‘I’ll get there cards’,” Tice joked after they had already been chatting for a few minutes.

The river came 8, with no help for Deeb, and Tsai doubled up. “But not this time,” Tice said with a grin.
