2026 WSOP Europe
With more than 680 entries recorded so far on Day 1a, this year’s field has already surpassed last year’s total of 659 entries.
Of course, the lower buy-in plays an important role in these numbers, but the tournament is only halfway through the first of three starting flights, and late registration remains open for two levels on Day 2.
Laszlo Vaczy jammed for 7,700 from under the gun and was called by Alin Ivan in middle position.
Laszlo Vaczy: Q♠10♠
Alin Ivan: 8♠8♣
Ivan kept the lead all the way through a board of 7♦2♠5♥8♥J♣ and hit a set to sent Vaczy to the rail.
After an open to 1,200 from the hijack, Romain Lewis on the button and Petr Kubenka in the big blind called.
The dealer fanned a flop of 3♠5♥6♥ and after two checks, Lewis bet 1,500. Kubenka called while the third player folded.
Lewis fired a second barrel to 6,000 on the K♣ turn and Kubenka check-folded.
Laurenz Gunnar Onnen in early position saw his 18,300-chip stack being called by Alexandre Reard in the small blind.
Laurenz Gunnar Onnen: K♦K♥
Alexandre Reard: Q♦Q♥
The board ran out 8♦7♥10♣8♠2♣ and the short stack doubled up.
Level: 5

The 554 players of Day 1a are on a 20-minute break.
The 2026 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event got underway Friday as Day 1a kicked off inside King’s Casino at Hilton Prague.
And it didn’t take long for the fireworks to start. The €5,300 buy-in event, which carries a €10 million guarantee, has already seen kings cracked several times and flopped quads in the opening levels.
Three-way in a limped pot, Aaron Olechnowicz in the cutoff bet 1,500 but saw Benjamin Chalot in the small blind check-raise to 6,000. After the big blind folded, Olechnowicz called.
Chalot bet 6,000 on the 7♦ turn and was quickly called, but both players checked the K♦ river.
Chalot flipped over 5♣2♣ for two pair while Olechnowicz's cards went into the muck.
