WSOP Bracelet Winner Flops Quads in Five-Bet Pot Against Pocket Kings

The 2026 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event got underway Friday as Day 1a kicked off inside King’s Casino at Hilton Prague.
And it didn’t take long for the fireworks to start. The €5,300 buy-in event, which carries a €10 million guarantee, has already seen kings cracked several times and flopped quads in the opening levels.
Can Klezys Avoid the One-Outer?
In Level 3, with the blinds at 200/400 (400), Frederik Reinert opened to 1,000 on the button before Thomas Rauhe three-bet to 3,500 from the small blind. Kasparas Klezys — the 2025 WSOP $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha champion — then made it 8,000 from the big blind. Reinert put in the rare five-bet, sizing up to 16,000. Rauhe folded, and Klezys called, leaving himself 18,000 behind.
On the J♥7♥7♣ flop, Klezys checked and Reinert bet 6,000. Klezys moved all in and Reinert snap-called.
Kasparas Klezys: 7♠7♦
Frederik Reinert: K♦K♣
Klezys had flopped quad sevens, drawing some amused reactions from around the table. A few "oooooohs" followed when the K♥ turn kept Reinert alive, albeit with just one out.
The 5♣ river failed to deliver, and Klezys secured the double-up.
Kings Cracked for First Elimination
But that wasn’t the first time pocket kings had been sent into the muck. The very first elimination of the WSOPE Main Event also came at the expense of cowboys.
Evan Muschetto was the player who collected the pot, and he recapped the hand to PokerNews.
Loic Morand raised to 500 from under the gun and was called by Aram Simonian from middle position. Weijiang Hu three-bet to 1,500 from the hijack, and was called by Alexandro Tricarico and Muschetto from the blinds. Morand and Simonian also stuck around.
On a rainbow 9x5x3x flop, Hu continued for 3,000. Tricarico called before Muschetto made it 13,000. Morand and Simonian got out of the way. Hu called before Tricario also folded.
On the Jx turn, Muschetto bet 20,500 and Hu jammed in the remainder of his 60,000 starting stack. Muschetto slightly covered, and called.
Weijiang Hu: KxKx
Evan Muschetto: 3x3x
Muschetoo had bottom set, and was ahead of the pocket kings. A 7x completed the board and Hu was the first player to depart.
Obrestad Gets WSOPE Main Event Underway
Before cards were in the air, Annette Obrestad, the first-ever WSOPE Main Event winner and still the youngest bracelet winner in WSOP history, was given the honor of delivering the traditional "Shuffle up and deal."
Obrestad, who returned to the felt in December after an eight-and-a-half-year break, said she was thrilled to be back on one of poker’s biggest stages.
"Just being here and being able to play again, it's going to be so awesome. Thank you to the WSOP for flying me out and giving me this chance again," Obrestad told a packed room. "Good luck everybody, except for when you're playing against me of course. Let's just get this party started, shuffle up and deal!"
Through the first three and a half levels, nearly 600 entries had already been recorded. Two more starting flights remain, with Day 1b and Day 1c scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Day 2 gets underway Monday, April 6, with late registration open through the first two levels of play.
Several notable names have already taken their seats in the series' marquee event. Joining Obrestad in the field are 2023 WSOPE Main Event champion Max Neugebauer, 2025 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event fourth-place finisher Terrance Reid, Jonathan Little, and poker vloggers Ashley "pokerfaceash" Frank and Lexy Gavin-Mather.
2025 WSOP Main Event champion Michael Mizrachi is also among those chasing more hardware in the City of Spires. "The Grinder" has already shown strong form at the series with three cashes to his name.
